Hello! So I'm working on my first college analysis for film, and I decided to dissect some of the Pixar movies. I believe that Pixar is a forced to be reckoned with in the creative field. I know animated movies aren't taken too seriously by many people, but I feel like Pixar has actually created some of the best movies of all time (not just animated) In fact, if you look at Rotten Tomatoes, Pixar put out the most critically acclaimed film for seven years!!

So my question is, what do you believe is the best Pixar film? Objectively speaking. I want to have substantial opinions in my paper. I asked some of my friends and I'm tired of hearing stuff like "This is the best Pixar movie because it's cute"

That's why I decided to come here. With whatever you pick, what about that movie makes it the best for you? Could it be the writing, the structure, the themes, directing, the animation, the plot development?

My favorite is The Incredibles.

But objectively speaking, I believe the one that is the "best made" is either Wall-e or Inside Out.

Not asking for an analysis of the film, I know a lot of you are very busy with your own things. But perhaps if you could just drop the title of the movie and maybe a one sentence reasoning.

Thank You!

These are all the Pixar movies: Toy Story trilogy, A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc and University, Finding Nemo and Finding Dory, The Incredibles, Cars trilogy. Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, Brave, Inside Out, and The Good Dinosaur.

Toy Story was definitely my favorite as a kid. I played the PS1 game religiously too, which made me love it more.

Finding Nemo would probably be mine now.

Why? The characters. Vegeterian sharks, stoner turtles, fish with dementia, a sassy starfish, a stingray teacher. The list goes on. They're all so intelligently written and brought together so well, you can't not love them.

Also the humor to "feels" ratio is spot on too.

In saying that, I love all Pixar movies and probably will no matter how old I get.

Although maybe not my "desert island" pick, I go with Up. I remember watching the first ten minutes with my wife (who wasn't really watching), and turning to her in tears - "Are you watching this?"

No animated movie has ever brought tears like the first ten minutes of Up. Any movie that does that goes up near the top for me.

Okay, just watched Toy Story 3 with my kids and cried at the end, so there goes that.
