It makes sense that in this golden age of television this great show should come back. It'll be interesting to see how it goes.
"The announcement makes good on decades of speculation about a follow-up to the TV cult classic—specifically, it makes good on the prophecy from the show’s 1991 season finale, in which Laura Palmer tells Agent Dale Cooper “I will see you again in 25 years.”
Loved the show but like most fans I thought it tailed off badly after the killer was revealed. A decision made by the network against Lynch's wishes who left the show soon after.
Although, to be fair, the season 2 finale was good.
As much as this has me excited, I would've preferred to hear Lynch was working on a new feature.
I think it will be resaonable to assume that while some characters will be returning, there will be a whole crop of new ones. Some characters, if still in TP, will be recast. (some of the actors have passed on) but the more interesting thing is that the series picks up on cable. It can really get dark if they wanna. The gloves are coming off, and not a moment too soon. Gotta get Good Dale out of the Lodge...
It will be interesting to see where some characters are.
True, having it on cable means there will be less interference and watering down. I've read a couple of articles on it in the meantime which have kinda got me excited about it too. Hearing the Lynch himself will be directing and co-writing every episode is very encouraging.
