One of the most impressive men to walk the pages of history. Not long after he got out of prison, I remember reading an essay he wrote on the topic of economics, of all things. It was stunning how brilliant, perceptive and balanced it was.

Many say that history produces the man for the moment. I doubt there was any other man who could have so perfectly met that moment than Nelson Mandela.
