Folks,

Bert just informed me that he is seeing popups on the SimplyScripts domains.  I apologize for this.  My long running requirement has been that popups or float overs must be user initiated. In other words, you have to mouse over the ad for something to jump out at you.

So, if you get a popup, please post here what the ad was for and I'll try to get it stopped.

Thanks and apologies for the intrusion.

Don

Annoying indeed! I've noticed it too. I get it mostly with that truck ad. Dodge or something? It takes over the screen and the ad starts playing.

I have not see any. I use an app called Adblock Plus that you can get for Chrome, maybe that blocks it.

Mine was an ad for "Noah" that was quite loud.

I was just minding my own business, browsing threads, when suddenly my computer is shouting at me about, "...the number 1 movie in the world!!"

I hate stealth audio.  I despise it.  And I suspect most others do, as well.

I had never encountered that on SS before, hence, the note to Don.

Folks,

The Dodge Ad on SimplyScripts.Com is, believe it or not, user initiated. It jumps out at you when your mouse goes over the ad.

The "Noah" ad is coming from the discussion board (SimplyScripts.Net) and I'm looking into it.

The "barely legal teens" ad is more of a service ...  (I'm kidding).

I hate 'popups' and spooky voices exclude them from the ad mix.

The ads are, unfortunately, a necessary evil.  They pay for the server, the bandwidth and the occasional crappy mug.

Don

I keep getting an ad for Noah's Barely Legal Dodge Ark.

I wonder if mine's being recalled for a faulty starter flood switch.

I encountered that the other day. One was enough. But when there's three on the same page and all are starting 1 1/2 second of each other? Is that an echo I hear?

As well as the pop ups for the mid-life Catholic atler boys gone wild.

I gotta say, this is MY PORTAL for entertainment.
