Check out this interview with Pia Cook, the jewel in the crown without whom this discussion board would not exist.

GREAT interview! And Pia does rock it around here. She has been one of my mentors and I've been so lucky to work with her on several films now. I've learned a ton from Pia and love working with her.

Great interview!!! We love you Pia!

Terrific read, (thanks Shawn!) great advice and insider knowledge from Pia. I used to be a dressage rider in my younger days, nice analogy.

Ya ya. Pia is pretty awesome!
Great interview, Shawn, thanks.

The one about a mime is one of the most memorable shorts for me, too.

Nice interview - good thoughts from Pia. The lack of respect for writers really hit home.

Good stuff. Thanks to both of you for taking the time to do it.

I'm sad to hear movies don't make you feel much anymore, Pia. Do you think that's because you've changed significantly over time or movies have changed or all of the above?

Don, you make me blush!

Thanks guys!

I hate doing interviews because I honestly don't feel I have much positive and encouraging things to say to especially newer writers.

LC, that's cool you used to ride dressage too. I did and so did my girls. I think Dena did it too. I like that analogy too, but maybe you have to be a rider to understand.

Dave, the lack of respect can be very depressing, especially in the indie arena where money is tight if existing at all. I'm sure it's different for the famous writers, but so few of us ever get to that level. Although, a few do. In any sport or craft or whatever, that 1% cream always rises to the top.

I don't make you blush enough.

I very much appreciate your friendship and your trust over all these years.

Most folks don't know/realize that it is you and Bert that have been standing in front of the off switch on this thing.

Great Interview, I didn't know that Pia did so much. I'm thinking on doing my own films also. If I can't sell it I will make it myself.
I just watched the short with the clown and lady in the elevator, I really liked it. "You got nice tit's" "Wanna Fuck" hahaha great lines.. Now that's my type of short.

Great job Pia.

Great interview, Pia. I read it a while back but somehow missed this thread. Maybe I saw it on fb or something. Anyway, good job from both interviewer and interviewee. I’m sure it will help a lot of writers.
