Anyone interested in a feature exchange?  Been working on this one for a few months, hoping to get some eyes on it before submitting to the site.  Happy to read most genres in return (though less inclined towards romance or coming of age drama - no offense, just not my thing).

Title: When They Wake

Logline:

Medieval England, amid a post-plague landscape blighted by violence and superstition, a determined young girl and a volatile fugitive set out in search of the girl’s father; a journey that leads them into the path of an ancient horror - a horror driven by insatiable hunger.

Dark fantasy horror, 93pp.

Here's a link to the first 15 to give you an idea.

I've read the first 15 and it's some impressive work. I'll take a look at it but I'll take a rain check on the exchange as I'm still finishing up a few features.

Send it over.

Steve - done and PM'd you.

Brilliant writing, IMO. There were some minor hiccups for me, but the descriptions and dialogue were A+, IMO.

Hi Steve,

Don't know if you're still interested, but I'd be happy to give you feedback. The first 15 pages are great so far.

If you wouldn't mind giving feedback on a feature I'm working on, that I still want to get out the kinks before posting, I'd really appreciate it as well.

Hi Steve,

The first 15 pages definitely drew me in. I've been wanting to see a great movie about the plague years for a while. Right now I'm listening to the audiobook lecture of "The Black Death: The World's Most Devastating Plague". The whole subject is fascinating to me. Great job capturing the feel of the time.

What research did you do before you started?

I'd love to read the rest of the script.

Rodriguez,

Thanks for the offer.  Ill send it over via the email on your title page if that's okay?

Plague on audiobook?  I'll track that down.  I was always hoping Dan Carling would do a Hardcore History on the subject (surprised he hasn't).  Initially I just wanted to find some contemporary accounts of life in the middle ages, and the Black Death produced a wealth of written accounts across Europe.  Setting this just after seemed like a natural fit given the tone.  John Kelly's The Great Mortality was the book I got the most out of.  A fascinating and dark time in history - not just the plague itself, but also people's reactions to those they blamed for it.

Steve
