I myself would have to go with Escape From New York, with The Thing being a close second |

The Thing, with Breakdown coming in second. Too bad Dark Blue isn't on there, as I think it's one of his best films. The fact that it's from a story by James Ellroy doesn't hurt, either. |

I'm sorry but I have to go with The Thing. That movie scared the poop out of me, but Poseidon follows closely behind.

I voted for Backdraft, but I liked Breakdown and Stargate a lot too. I wish Executive Desicion was on the list. |

This is a very incomplete list. You missed 'Big Trouble in Little China' and 'Soldier.' And there was his appearance on Gilligan's Island.
I don't know why people making these poll threads.

I know this is off topic and it's okay if it's deleted, but has anyone noticed that out of 30 threads on the Portal page, only seven are about screenplays. |

There's too many of these types of thread and they have nothing to do with screenwriting. If there was even a little discussion about the writing, then I'd say it was validating.
By creating new polls, you're pushing scripts off the list of active threads, making them them that much harder to get read. And for what? To point out that your favorite Kurt Russell movie is Overboard?

There is "technically" nothing wrong with these -- but I'll back Phil up just so he isn't a voice in the wilderness.
And no reason to delete Pia's post -- I'm too lazy to count -- but I believe her.
These things seem to get started at the drop of a hat now. And they are even worse when some delightful wag resurrects them six months down the road.
There's what -- 4 best director threads now? And Stephen King movies -- and plenty of others that I am sure I am forgetting.
This one here is a poll I probably wouldn't have thought of in a million years.
And anyone who doesn't vote for Snake Pliskin is crazy, btw.

I completely agree. That's not a slight on you, darthbrion, but these boards are becoming less about screenwriting every day. This ain't IMDB. Let's keep it that way. For the record, I voted for The Thing |

I'm waiting for the thread, "Who's the best gaffer?"
or "What's your favorite Paulie Shore movie?"
Any poll, as long as it means we don't talk about screenwriting.
BTW, Bert, check your pm's.

He's not a voice in the wilderness. This is exactly what I was trying to point out about the thread count on the portal page. |

Yep, I'm with you dude. Big Trouble in Little China is his best. And what happened to Tango and Cash? However, from this list I'll go Escape from New York. |

geez my bad for posting a random poll. I saw all the others and I figured "let me try one to fit in" but it's cool homies... Just delete the thread if it's such a waste of time and space for everyone. I'll just stay quiet and watch wrestling or something. brion |
