Sorry if there is already a thread like this. If there is, just merge them together. I searched for one but nothing came up.

-----------------

STORY: After Chicken Little (Zach Braff) causes big-time havoc when he mistakes a falling acorn for a piece of the sky, his name is mud in his hometown of Oakey Oaks. Down but not out, he struggles mightily to restore his reputation and make his dad, Buck Cluck, proud. Chicken Little joins the local baseball team and, despite the fact that he is barely bigger than a baseball himself, he manages to smack a championship-winning homerun. With one crack of the bat, the town laughingstock becomes the toast of Oakey Oaks.
But no sooner has Chicken Little redeemed himself then he is conked on the head one more time. And this time the sky really is falling! Fearful of once again being labeled crazy, Chicken Little tells no one but his best friends, Runt of the Litter, Abby Mallard A.K.A Ugly Duckling and Fish Out of Water, about the threat that hangs over Oakey Oaks. Together this misfit crew tries to save the day. Chicken Little eventually discovers that he needs to risk his newfound popularity and alert his father and the town. When Buck realizes Chicken Little actually has it right this time, he unites with his son and his friends as they set out to save the world…
Like I said, nothing great or original. This film has kind of the basic TV-movie story.

SCORE: 50/100

DIALOGUE: The dialogue wasn’t bad in this film but it wasn’t the greatest dialogue I’ve ever heard, either. It sounded kind of like the Disney Channel TV shows…stiff dialogue overall. But it isn’t the worst part of the movie.

SCORE: 75/100

ADVERTISING: This film, in my opinion, was hyped too much. But despite this, it still bombed in the Box Office. I guess no one fell for the hype? I didn’t either. That’s why I’m just getting around to seeing this on DVD. But I think they over did the advertising. And most of the commercials were lame.

SCORE: 30/100

OVERALL: This movie wasn’t horrible or anything, just nothing great. Good animation but that was about it. I wouldn’t even waste my time on the DVD if I were you…

OVERALL SCORE: 45/100

They played this movie on the plane I was on on my way back from California. I decided to watch it to see how it was and I stopped watching it about five minutes after. The only part I laughed at was when Chicken Little knocked down the water tower and the people in the theater were watching Indiana Jones, and at the part where it was showing the giant rolling rock coming towards Indiana, just as it looked as if it was about to hit the movie screen, the water tower ball rolled through and crushed everyone.

Then I watched the rest while listening to my iPod and it looked so stupid. I wished the town citizens who were zapped by the aliens were actually zapped out of existence.

Yeah...it took me almost 3 days to finish the thing...

My little baby brother didn't even want to watch it after a few minutes of it.

My kids, whoa re 4 and 7 enjoyed it. I found it amusing and cute, like most of Disney's recent offerings. It's made for the younger segment and most of the stuff that happens is just for silliness.

I think that they did too many movies references and parodies; these were clearly intended to be for laughs, but few of them tied into the actual storyline and so were just out there.

I felt the twist on the Chicken Little tale was clever as it gave a new spin on the old story. Twist referring to the writing, not a plot twist, per se.

Most of the characters and plot devices were cliches, and just dug out of the Disney vault for rehashing in another cute kid-flick. You've got the brainy star, the nerdy sidekick, the fat sidekick, and all of them are misfits. Dad's a bit of a loser and doesn't understand his son. Bully gets a comeuppance in the end. Everybody lives (which I'll grant is a twist, but since it's a kid's film, I figured there'd be something like this -- I was getting my hopes up for a moment thinking the film would have a body count).

In the end, it was a cute movie. Not spectacular, but it did have all the elements of a good motion picture.
