Has anyone watched this Aussie horror? I watched it today at work and I felt it could have been really good, but the editing kept this from being anything but a mess. One scene we have so and so doing one thing and in the next it's a different timeline or something. If they thought this mixing of timelines and storylines was clever, they were wrong! The story is simple enough to follow even with this weird editing, but it really ruined the film IMO.

It is a critically acclaimed little film, actually.

I will be watching soon, as it's Netflix now.

Just watched this one.  I really liked it, but wasn't crazy about the structure.

Obviously a conscious decision on how this was structured, but it has nothing to do with the editing.  It's simply shown out of order, in hopes of increasing tension and confusion, but in reality, it takes away from the tension, IMO.

But, much like Wolf Creek or Eden Lake, it is quite brutal, while not showing all that much gore.  The 2 baddies are so bad, it is very scary to me.

I thought all the actors did a great job here.  I think all the characters are written very well here. And finally, the film looks good, was shot well, and the FX was all top notch.

So much better than the crap we get released in mainstream here.  Hats off to the Aussies!

Watched this last night.

I'm generally not a fan of Aussie films. I feel that for the most part they are over acted, including the highly successful Wolf Creek films.

This one however was a pleasant surprise, I really enjoyed it.

Thought the acting felt natural for once. A tried and tested premise but that didn’t really take away from the film.

SPOILER kind of:

And I honestly enjoyed the structure. It was something different and it only allowed you to know what the antags were fully capable of when the protag does. Unlike films where the antags generally get a few kills up before going after the protags (if that makes sense).
