Tried watching season 2 of Stranger Things - just couldn't get in to it.  For my money - the story from Season 1 was done and this should have been a different one with different cast (ala True Detectives).

A) You have to ignore the fact that there was a story climax the year before.
B) Logic issues. e.g., the Sheriff blowing off the dude that thought some strange things were happening when just the season before the Sheriff was at the center of strange things.
C) The cast of kids became tedious and the dialogue blended from one year to the next.

Maybe I'll go back - but I was bored out of my mind after two episodes.

After 3 episodes into Season 2, I feel the exact same way. However, I hear it gets MUCH better towards the end and is well worth the watch. So I'll be pushing forward (although I'm not too excited to do so).

Black Mirror is pretty good. They're lots of Sci-Fi stories produced in the UK and US - most of them dystopian and what the new world will be like with AI. I haven't seen the first season of Stranger Things, but I'm very very picky about what I watch these days. It has to be quality.

I forced my way through ST ... it does get better just past midway in the series. At first I thought they were going to intro several new characters but then they do just one where they could've used more to keep the cast fresh. I found myself bored with this series compared to the first one. My favorite part was Eleven in this series, her relationship or lack of with Hopper. And I did like the end. It was very predictable but I liked it.

Do you guys think they will try to squeeze another series??? Not sure I would if I were Netflix... but we'll see.

Just wish they would do a different story each season - like a twilight zone one year at a time

I just finished season 2. In the end it's not bad. Much soppier than 1, and that's what pulls it down for me. With all them trying to revoke Will, and El finding her sis and Mike talking to El like he jumped out of one of Dostoyevsky's novels....

Grown ups dont care where their kids are - that was weird. But ultimately it was a good watch. The last for me though, won't go for the 3d one if they decide on it.

Dave,

Stranger Things season two does get much better and much deeper. Just my opinion.

Like pale yellow said, the evolution of the relationship between Eleven and Hopper was really nicely done.

There is one terrible and I repeat TERRIBLE episode halfway through the season that not even an eighties baby, Stephen King loving person like myself could forgive.

But I think like everything else, it comes down to taste and just plain and simple what can hold your attention long enough.

All the best,
Marty

It's already been greenlit and the casting calls have gone out

Wow... well... ya know.. I'll watch it. After watching one really great season... you will watch others more forgivingly I think. I was a super fan during the first season. Once a fan ... always sort of ... but I just want it to be goooooood.

SEASON 3

I must say season 3 was very similar in the feel, tone, pace, to season 1.  I thought season 2 was the slower and weakest season.  And if anyone abandon ST because of the 2nd season.  I’d urge you to watch the third.  It was cracking.

Did anyone else catch this season?

I'm about half way through and for the most part I'm really enjoying it. There is just one thing that's starting to annoy me. It's a beat they use over, and over, and over again.

Two people arguing, then one argues harder and louder than the other person and puts them in their place, so dumb. Anyway... not enough to detract from what is a fun watch.
