When I write in a character that has no dialog whatsoever, and is only one scene for a  short time and last time ever, do I need to capitalized his/her name? I hear that only characters with dialog need their names capitalized...

I guess it depends if you want to establish the character or not but yeah you should always capitalize names the first time they appear because it tells the reader that he's new I guess.

Frankly I think the whole writing format is flaud and terribly done but you have to follow what's available.

I would just because... I mean it works with sounds, important key items you want to be noticed and it also breaks the paragraphs up and makes them not so run of the mill to read. I know when I read a screenplay and if it all looks like one font, I'm just agitated and get restless when I read it.

I need breaks and spaces and other things to catch my eye to keep me reading a screenplay and by putting things in caps, not all things just somethings, it makes it alot easier to blow thru.

Again, just my two cents on the matter but if it works use it and if you break it don't save it throw it away...
