Right. Courier, Courier New or Courier Final Draft, all in 12 point, are acceptable. I use Courier FD. If you use anything other than a Courier font, it's wrong (for screenplays, that is).

i tend to prefer Courier new over Courier FD because it is easier to read and it makes your script seem longer(like my script in FD was 127 pages and in New it was 156).

You don't want your script to be longer. If you submit a 156 page script to an agent, he'll see how thick it is and toss it aside. Phil

Phil makes a good point. If your first script is 156 pages, you'd better put it aside and write something shorter to get yourself on the map. All the long produced scripts were written by veterans or people with clout. If Titanic was James Cameron's first script, it would not have been made. If Lord of the Rings were not a classic book, it would not have been made. If Francis Ford Coppola was not an esteemed director when he did the Godfather, that movie would not have been made. We could go on and on with this. Yes, there are overlong scripts and overlong movies, but before those guys made those movies, they wrote scripts between 90-120 pages long. Play the game first, and then break the rules. Not the other way round. Get on the map first, show how good you are, and then submit that 156 monster.
