How would I format this?

Just for example... Two people making something in a kitchen, then cutting to them eating it at the table a little while later?

Like this?

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

They place the tray into the oven.

MOMENTS LATER

They sit at the table eating.

The way you wrote it in your example is also correct, and for me, it's actually better.

To show passing time, Mini Slugs with only the time frame are perfect.
