Do you think it's cheap to overuse or neglect the information outlets we have today?

With our senses constantly being bombarded with info from the Internet, cell phones, and television, do you consider it cheap to get across large amounts of exposition using those formats?

On the other end of the spectrum, is it cheap to AVOID using those resources?  I can't count the number of books and movies where the conflict would have been solved with a quick phone call.

Is there a fine line you walk on when using/not using these methods? What's your view on it?

If it doesn't make an interesting visual, then don't use it.
