ZOMBIES roam the fields.

Okay.

Also, you'd capitalize the name of a character if you introduced them via a photo, aye?

Or could you describe the person as a young man in the photo... then introduce him later in real life like...

DAVE, the young man from the photo, blah blah

INT.  DINING ROOM - DAY

Dave examines a photo.

INSERT - PHOTO

Dave alongside his friend, FRANKIE, 25, athletic build.  Happier times.

BACK TO SCENE

-----

Or... if the character never appears in real life... just in the photo... and the name isn't important

----

Dave examines a photo.

INSERT - PHOTO

Dave alongside his friend, a young man in his 20s.  Happier times.

Max,

I'm going to provide you with an alternative to the INSERT - PHOTO rule.

We can't all write like Taylor Sheridan, god I wish we could, but here is his example from Wind River.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wilma disappears into the kitchen, leaving Cory alone in the
living room.

He stares at the ground. Fumbles with his hat. Looks at the
ceiling fan. ... Gives up and turns his gaze toward the fireplace.

Above the mantle is a 16x24, FRAMED YEARBOOK PHOTOGRAPH of a
TEENAGE GIRL. She wears a basketball uniform. Black hair
neatly braided into long pig-tails. Big smile. Bright eyes.
His eyes.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taylor Sheridan never gives the name of the TEENAGE GIRL. But he's a very successful screenwriter. I'm not sure what the rules are since the Screenwriter's Bible 1.0 came out but if it is a rule to give the character a name and put INSERT - PHOTO than he broke them. Which goes to show you, don't be afraid to break the rules.

I hope that helps.

All the best,
Marty

For me, I consider the rule to be CAP the photo and the character identity. There's more than one way to get there format-wise, as long as it's clear.
