Jeez, Darren, you're like a reincarnated version of Rod Serling with all these bizarre stories you've been cranking out lately. This was a quick and easy read, but the ending just dropped off without any explanation. Othet than that, I liked it.

Funny. Aside from EC comics/Tales From The Crypt, The full length Crimson Scarab had also been influenced by 'Queen Of The Nile', a Twilight Zone episode. But I'm not the reincarnated Serling. I don't believe in re-incarnation. Even if I did, I would be the reincarnation of the guy who invented the paper towel.
Anyway, the reason why Planted ends in a cliffhanger is that I plan to have installments on SS every few weeks. In fact, just yesterday I submitted "episode 2".
That makes more sense. Might wanna give us a head's up next time by ending it with a TO BE CONTINUED...
I iook forward to reading the future installments. You've got my attention with this one, as I'm curious to find out how they got to wherever they are. And FYI, I don't believe in reincarnation either. I believe in Jesus.
Maybe you could incorprorate a Christian guy into one of your episodes? But just don't let him get eaten unless he's trying to save somebody. That way he can die as a martyr.
Efficient read and intriguing subject matter. The budget for this would be unsmall. I would probably bitch slap you for that ending, had I not read the posted comments. =p I would have liked a bit more environmental description. I get the greenhouse thing, but is there no visible ceiling or sky? Light sources? With all the cell phone chatter, I was waiting for a mention of time of day. I was waiting for my "Come with me if you want to live, Joi with an I.", joke. In the immortal words of Otto from "A Fish Called Wanda." Disappointed!
One thing yanked me right out of the story...
p. 2 Ted slides through loose dirt and smaller plants, safe at home plate.
Less baseball analogies in man eating plant stories would be good.
Tasty crackling lady fingers curdled my milk, good description. Looking forward to more plant gorging goodness!
Regards, E.D.
