Hey all,

Thanks to Don for getting this up so quickly. Appreciated.

Just to let you all know, I really don't require any reads as I have only submitted this to get it onto the SS site.

If anyone would like to take a look and possibly give me a like, please browse across to me FB page for "Evanesce".

Hey Tony,

Thanks for your interest. I have had reads done previously and just wanted to get it on the site for exposure.

I know others who have done the same and they mentioned it to me.

Regards Alex

Isn't this like putting photos on Instagram or Photobucket and saying 'I've just uploaded some pics. Don't bother looking at them though. No need.

I'm bewildered. I feel like my dog did when he raced up a tree after a cat and then realised he would have to actually get down at some point. The feckin' eejit.

haha

Maybe he needed a site to host his script or is just looking for the possibility of producers finding his work.

I know for a fact that representatives of all sized studios peruse SS for scripts. I told Alex to post it at SS and mention that you don't need reads if you feel the script is polished enough. That way, no one who's kind enough to read and comment on a feature will know and won't spend the hours of doing so when the script will not be rewritten.

Good Luck Alex! I'm planning on reading it, but only because I really want to.

Thanks for that. I'm less bewildered. Just the fact that a script usually keeps getting rewritten until they film it. Even then they rarely stop and often do reshoots.

But far be it from me to to question further.

I'm off to find a ladder to help the dog down out of the tree while the cat looks on with what appears to be almost a smirk.

Good luck to Alex
I have no problem with this at all, maybe we should have a category where people can submit LOCKED entries?
I understand this may be difficult, somewhat jeopardize the pro-active community a little but considering the amount of people that never reply, it may be something to consider.

I really don't think some writers send their material here to get feedback, they just want to "put it out there", so a LOCKED category might benefit both parties - writer and reviewer.

Uh...I think this is being taken the wrong way. Alex asked on another forum what others would suggest for getting their script the biggest exposure. InkTip was mentioned and other ideas as well. I said, IMHO, there's no better site than SS to get people to notice your script. I suggested, if he didn't really need input on the story, just exposure to post it at SS and mention that he wasn't really looking for feedback so friends wouldn't feel obligated to read. This does not at all mean you shouldn't read and comment if you feel like it...

Again, producers do peruse SS for scripts and SS is free and Don likes scripts, so I don't get what the problem is.

It's a bit of a double edged sword...

You want exposure, but with no reads and comments, it's simply going to go to the bottom.

Comments on a script is what keeps it at the top.

That's true, but people looking for scripts to produce tend to look at the HOME page or the UNPRODUCED SCRIPTS pages for scripts. Not the forum.
