I just want to offer a sincere apology to everyone for messing up the third round of the tournament. I've done a bit of thinking and come to the conclusion that there is no fair way to rectify the situation. Every way has its pros and cons. As a result, I am going to stand by the original set-up for voting. As a result, Don is going to send out a sheet for you to privately vote for the scripts on a scale of 1-5.

We are well aware that people have started to out themselves, but I'm of the opinion that you're all people of integrity and will vote fairly, at least, somewhat in accordance with how you voted the first time around and not as a result of knowing who wrote what.

Once again, I apologize and hope to avoid this problem in the future. Thank you for your understanding. We will officially take a week off from the tournament and close the voting at 11:59PM on Thursday.

Sounds fair to me.

And, don’t sweat it. This has been great fun. One small hiccup doesn’t change what’s been a great experience. ‘Sides, a week off to recharge isn’t gonna hurt anyone’s feelings!!!

That's it! I want my money back. Wait, this was free. Don't fret it dude. I think the solution you came up with is perfectly fine and if it's not that's perfectly fine also. Thanks for all your efforts

All good. Don't worry Sean, not your fault.

I remember my votes. I also have no clue who wrote what, or who outed themselves.

I was watching the "Round 3" thread like a hawk yesterday but
haven't seen anyone out himself.

Guess I'll have to stick with my old grades then.

I haven’t seen anything either. Will still use my original scoring system: if I could have written it with the one-page limit in the time allotted then it gets a 1. Nothing scored under a 3.

Feature-length scripts:
Who Wants to Be a Princess? (Family)
Glass House (Horror anthology)

TV pilots:
"Kord" (Fantasy)
"Mal Suerte" (Superhero)

Additional scripts are listed here.

So who will get to vote, obviously the writers, but will a score sheet be sent out to everyone that cast a vote last time. As in, it seems a few people just read and voted on some. Not all the scripts had the same amount of votes.

I blame the lack of hysteria this round - the site went hysterical instead. See, people, what you've done!

@Sean, I didn't receive the scorecard. Can it be that only writers are allowed to vote?

Same here — I read all the scripts and voted on them all. Certainly would want the chance to vote again.

Me too. I'm with you lot above... I want my reading and votes to count.

And I'm really darned curious to know what scripts were crowd pleasers and who will advance into the next round.

Anyone thinking... Another week to wait?!

I have just send out the scorecards.  They were sent via PM.  They were only sent to those who voted during the "Hey Let's Use This Easy Star System Voting Thing that I discontinued many years ago because I forgot the math was messed up" round of voting.

Yes, you vote your own.

Please do not forward to score sheet to anyone.

Please identify yourself on the score sheet, otherwise it won't count.

Sean, don't worry about it. You and Don have been working crazy hard and you're doing an amazing job. I don't think anyone outed themselves unless it got deleted. So it's all good.

Okay voted.

(Why couldn't they use this same process in Bush v. Gore??

One suggestion regarding the voting deadline. I am assuming we have a finite/exactly known number of voters now. Rather than votes due by Thursday. How about by Thursday or when all votes are in whichever is the earliest.

For example, if all votes are submitted by Tuesday, why not announce results and new topics then rather than waiting for Thursday. It would give the writers moving on a little more time to plan out their schedules/write for the next round. Just a a thought.

Khamanna (khamanna), Dave (eldave1) and Henry (Stumpzian) have voted.  There was a fourth vote.  No name or email address.  That vote was deleted.  That is sad.

I was just going to suggest that.  As soon as all the votes come in, I'll tally them and push 'em out.  With regard to giving writers more time, I leave that to Sean - The Puppetmaster.

Cool - even if those who progress don't get more time to write, more time to plan to plan to write would be helpful as well. e.g., if I am not selected - then my weekend is more free to do other things.

I'm curious where we stand now on votes. I'm not even in this round and the countdown clock seems to be moving soooooo slowly.

For anyone who happens to know the Perl programming language, the bug in the voting system is at line 321 of

https://github.com/eblah/E-Blah-Forum/blob/master/cgi-bin/forum/Code/Poll.pl

I could spot the error because I knew exactly what to look for (a sum of two things divided by two), but don't know exactly how to fix it.

I've re-reminded the last three voters to her his/her votes in.

All the votes are in. I've run the numbers.  I'm glad to say that these results are the same as the previous results from the 'irregular voting'.

I've sent them to Sean to confirm and he will, at his convenience, post the results.

The mysterious world of mathematics.

This basically means that last person or two who voted in the original round (and therefore had an outsized effect on the original results) tended to agree with the majority.

That's a shame, there was a script or two I really liked which had low star ratings

Feature-length scripts:
Who Wants to Be a Princess? (Family)
Glass House (Horror anthology)

TV pilots:
"Kord" (Fantasy)
"Mal Suerte" (Superhero)

Additional scripts are listed here.

And I went to see if the ones I liked had low star ratings, but all the ratings are gone. I think some of my picks were middle-dwellers. Not sure though.

We won't see how individual scripts fared, right?

Now that all the votes are in, I can say this... it'll take a miracle for me to advance past this round.

The Fibonacci sequence.

xn = xn-1 + xn-2.

What this means is that I didn't advance.
