The Macabees by Rory Scherer - Drama, Historial, Action - Jerusalem.  175 B.C.E.  More than one hundred years had passed since the Greek ruler known as Alexander the Great conquered the entire Middle East.  At this time, Antiochus IV rose to power and wished to consolidate all of the peoples under his rule into one homogenous nation.  The previous rulers of the land had not intervened in religious matters, however Antiochus tried by force to compel the Jewish people to observe and adopt Greek customs and bow to their idols.  Those who refused were punished by death.  As Antiochus' army spread throughout the land enforcing his evil decrees, an uprising began in the small farming village of Modiin. Led by Matitiyahu, a vibrant elderly man, and his five sons, the rebels quickly grew in numbers and amassed an army.  They were known as The Maccabees; men as strong as hammers. 105 pages - pdf, format

Rory,
I like when historical strories are put to film. This is educational and dramatic.  Something I wish I could have seen growing up.  Regrettably, my catholic school was all out of Jewish movies when I attended.  I read the whole thing through and was interested the whole way through.  I don't know if it was the story, or your take on it.  Unfortunately, I'm too unfamiliar with the story to say whether I liked it or really liked it.  But either way..good job, and thanks.
