The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy by Zeke Jeffries - Horror, Slasher - Fear has a chain reaction… Between the years of 1969 and 1971, the Hewitt family of Travis County, Texas claimed the lives of at least thirty three people and committed a horror of what would universally become known as one of the most bizarre and brutal crimes in the annals of American history. 120 pages - doc, format
I've been a huge fan of ALL the TCMs and when I saw this, it was like a GOLDEN oportunity. I read the first few pages and must say that I'm highly impressed. Even though I was extremely excited to read this, I half expected to see the script for a B-movie. You use some words that not alot of people know, which strikes intelligence on your part. For instance, when describing the Motel Room, you use the word 'DANK'. When I first read this, I thought you meant 'DARK', but decided to look it up before I criticized your spelling. I'll review the rest of this later on, tonight, I am looking forward to reading it all.
Kudos
I am an ex-con who has grown over the past several years. I hope it shows.
Hey just finished your script so here goes with my two cents worth....
* SPOILERS *
* I'm not 100% sure about this but I don't think AIDS was really diagnosed until '81 or so. * I liked the whole origin of the head over the bucket. I missed seeing that from the TCM remake and the Origin movies. * You had two kills that were basically the same. A chainsaw through the back window. I'd change one just to keep things different. * A horror movie with no chicks? I understand this is a male bonding type movie but still, every horror movie needs at least one woman. * Hoyt sounded very natural to me, I laughed several times at his little rants. * Once you introduce a character you don't need to keep capitalizing their names. * Nice little nod to the original at the end with one getting away but not being able to lead police back to the crime scene.
Overall a fun read that had some great visual scares!
Yeah, I learned that AIDS wasn't diagnosed until the early 80's later on... my bad. I guess it could always be changed to be some other disease she had. And I'm glad you liked the nods to the original. The bucket scene was a truly disturbing and classic scene, plus a tense one, in the 1974 film and I am shocked it was not repeated in the remake or "The Beginning". I tried to do something different with the all-male cast to try and rid the series of some cliches.
this was actually really good compared to other fanfics for this film that I have read, i must say its the best one that i have read. Even with no girls in the film i did find myself pulling for the guys but I was happy when my fav character did survive. Nice job on this
