Hi, I frequently visit this site because I love to read unproduced scripts, but there is one thing that I have been questioning for quiet some time and that is...why do people spend their time writing scripts about storys that have already been done in hollywood.

The main reason for why people post their ORIGINAL scripts on this site is perhaps maybe...just maybe, a producer will come across this site and notice their script and hopefully get it produced, but when you write a screenplay such as this, or SAW or Friday the thirteenth or any other story that has already been done, you are basically wasting your precious time by not coming up with your own original idea. Directors never, and I mean never accept works based on their idea written by unsolicited writers.

There is a reason why script competitions only accept ORIGINAL works. I just dont understand how you can write 139 pages on this, I mean are you serious?

I can answer it for you. Not all writers (here atleast) write for work, some write for fun, I love writing scripts and yes it would be my dream that one of my scripts will get picked up and produced and I get rich from a script but I doubt thats going to happen, not for a couple of years yet atleast and its not my chosen career its my hobby.

Some people use this script because they enjoy writing and reading other scripts not just because of possible careers that could come out of it. Therefore thats why people write sequels for the enjoyment of there friends at this site and the enjoyment they get out of writing the script.
