I've read your story and I have to say that it wasn't for me.
I take it some of the lines are meant to be sung? Anyway, you tell a story that has already been told in the X-Men. It did start of interestingly enough where I thought you were going to tell of a story that Magneto may have lived when he was in the concentration camp. But then it went downhill.
You have then speaking 'olde' english too. What's this all about? When those characters didn't speak like that in the film. I'm guessing you were influenced by the film or the english actors that played those parts.
Plus, didn't Magneto and Charles have this conversation about not fighting humans after a few years? Sounds like this conversation came about the first time they met.
The morphing into a man instantly didn't go down well with me either.
Tell a story that is different or altered in a way that makes it interesting. This is just copied and adds nothing to the X-Men.
This piece is intended as a musical or opera, so all lines are intended to be sung.
True the characters don't speak the way they do in the film/comics, but this was more of an alternate interpretation of these two characters and the way they speak was purposefully made this way to fit in with the musical feel of the piece.
The morphing into a man instantly didn't go down well with me either.
This was meant to be symbolic of the moment his childhood ended.
I understand that something like this may not be for all tastes, but I disagree that this is just copied; it's a way of summarizing the complex relationship these two characters have, through a short musical medium, something that (at least to my knowledge) has not been done before.
Thanks for the read and I appreciate the feedback.
i like the title, yes i do, as for the story well i liked it somehow, but as Javier said before, this doesn't add anything to the X-Men story and that's OK with me, since i don't think that was your thought, or was it? If so than i'm wrong.
I see this as a different portray, something i never imagined really. I like it for what it is.
Cheers,
P.S: While reading your musical script, i couldn't stop thinking of Joker singing.
JOKER Batman, batman, you flying bat smile for me, you filthy rat...
and he continues singing (get away from my head) LOL!!!
My aim with this wasn't to add anything new to the X-Men story, but to focus on the relationship between long-time friends/enemies Magneto and Professor X, and to present this in an altenative way... as a musical!
