Hi guys,

I've been planning on writing a bio-script, but i don't know the rules in this genre. I mean there must be some rules to consider, like could you make it a little more fiction and many other questions.

Please tell me more.

Thanks

Most of the bio pieces I've seen and read usually start off with the main character having the biggest crisis of his/her life and from then the story flashbacks to tell the characters backstory/development.

I'm not saying this is the right way, it's just what I've seen. Actually I'm not very fond of this method - it seems like it takes forever to get the story back on track.

Obviously, a bio-piece needs to be trimmed and "adjusted" to make it more cinematic, but I don't think it's a good idea to actually change specific events - that could get you in trouble. But making it more cinematic is what would be expected I guess when it comes to bio-pieces.

Who is the topic by the way?

Thanks for your answer Rob,

Well, i started a bio for a local person here, but left it. This was 2 years ago.

Actually i have been thinking since January to make a script about Heath Ledger. Yea, weird isn't it.

But i don't know where to start.

mmmmm....

They will probably make a movie (most likely for TV) about him so you might as well get cracking right away.

You could start off at his funeral (since it no secret that he dies) and then focus on various people attending the funeral and use them as flashback mediums to tell The Complete Heath Ledger Story.

Yea, the reason why i got interested is because originally i planned to make it in reverse like Memento. So we start with his death and stop at one of his best moments (maybe when he got his first role)

Your right they will probably make a film about it, but i do my shot

Suggestion are helpful.

Actually i have an outline that i wrote a month ago, should i go to the Work in Progress?

I like the Memento-angle but doesn't his lifestory get more and more interesting the nearer you get to the end of his life? I don't know anything about Heath Ledger's life other than the obvious, so I'm just worried you'll blow all the good stuff in the beginnng and not leave much for the end.

Just out of curiosity, how much research have you done about him and his life?

I bought a book about him, and have many many many interviews and articles.

The reverse is the first option, then i thought after watching I'm Not There. I could put a similar structure to my script.

Actually i my outline is divided in 5 short scripts (still to be written) with each short describing Heath in a different way from the another. Each short would concentrate on him and on a character he played.

- Brokeback Mountain
- The Dark Knight
- The Order
- Candy
- 10 Things i Hate about you
- Casanova
