Since I've been involved in this world for a couple of months now and I do a lot of watching of machinima clips - especially Moviestorm ones.  I decided to devote a thread to the gems I find.

This first one is called Clockwork and it's a dark dystopian look at a future Britain.  It seems to be inspired by Clockwork Orange - at least the future world is.

The director makes excellent use of Moviestorm's capabilities and he likes his shadows.

This won the Grand Prize at the 2009 Machinima Expo and took Second Prize at the Atopic Festival in Paris.

Enjoy!

This one called "Daddy's Home"  is an excellent Moviestorm machinima and one of the most viewed on the Moviestorm site.    It was also written by one of our Simply Script regulars.  Can you say Pia?

Here's a bad-cop drama thriller with lots of twist and turns.   The voice acting isn't the best and the direction isn't amazing but it more than makes up for it by the end.  It's called the Ring of the False God.

Thanks for that Michael!

That stuff is hard to do and I think he did a good job. There were some differences between the script and film though and IMHO the script was better. Should anyone be interested in reading it, here's the link  http://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?m-1223516201/ .

Btw, I've had several people make this one, but only a couple have been posted online for public viewing.

The Lighthouse

A more traditional type of machinima made with the Halo game engine.   This type is made by recording game play rather than creating a directed scene like the Moviestorm ones.   The director made good use of story in this video.

And since it's Christmastime now here's a Christmassy one from the Unreal engine.  It's a pretty sharp looking animation - especially the depth of field used.   This engine is available for use and I've played around with it, but boy is it complex.  It must have taken this guy months of hard work to do this video.

This one has a number of good laughs in it, especially the first half.  The engine used was from a game called The Movies - I sure some of you have played it or at least heard of it.

It's a pretty standard Tunnel Vision like comedy, with some nudity thrown in,  The Movies and The Sims are the only engines that support nudity.

This is Dr. Frakenstein:  Plastic Surgeon.

Something a bit more cerebral, a bit more of an art film.  I have no idea what this is supposed to be about, maybe because this is the third episode of a series, but I like it.

Here's a game-driven machinima using GTA.  It's about hit-men but I found it amusing anyway...

Here's an excellent take off on the Lord of the Rings.  It's hilarious but definitely only for the most (im)mature of us.

"You've got your head so far into your ass, you can't find your way even if a clump of shit with a torch showed you the exit!"

I'll have to try to use that line in conversation in the next few days.

This is some biting satire about the You Tube culture.  Those of you who have followed the comments on The Dark should find this amusing.
