Today, apart from some killings, is a good day. The Big Story of the day is sadly not Clint Eastwood's birthday. That should be The Big Story. As today, was gonna be the day the media celebrated the fact that Clint reached 80 years old.

As Bert might rightly say: "Clint's films and achievements don't need to be listed here." They don't. Like Hopper, Eastwoods canon of work speaks volumes for itself. Clint ain't the type of fella to sing his own praises. He doesn't have to. It would be unbecoming of him.

Why do I mention this here? That's a good question. I'm glad you asked.

Clint directed two films that cover this period in history.

One is mainly about Ira Hayes. Cash wrote a rather good song about him. God rest Ira and Johnny. They were both heroes of mine. I hope they are also heroes of yours. If not then have a read about them. They were both great men. In many different ways.

The other film is from the Japanese POV. I learned a lot watching that movie. It was well made.

Thank you for listening. Have a good day, y'all.

R x
