Thank you for posting this.  Here is a little more information about the storyline...

It takes place in the future when the Earth is no longer tied to revolve around the sun, due to an impending disaster a long time ago when the sun was about to go bad, and if the people did not find a new way to adapt, everyone would die.  So they set about on a star-hopping system where Earth would be like a spaceship, docking only at stars when they needed to refuel their energy supply as the stars are a main source of energy and fuel.  Under this system, Earth literally became a spaceship, and there was military rule under a world government.  It would be treason not to obey the military government.  But some groups of resistance fighters did not want to be subjected to this system, and they wanted to just dock at a star, and not have to keep traveling around the universe.  This is the source of the conflict, and a revolution is brewing because of it.

The premise is very familiar...right, the British series Space: 1999! In the series the moon was catapulted from Earth's orbit and the occupants of Moonbase Alpha traveled to other systems using the moon as their "spaceship". It ran for two seasons.

I'm a fan already, I'll check it out.

Halfway through... mainly found small format errors and mis-spells.

As military myself over and out are never used together. Over is an invite to reply. Out is ending transmission.

Some series of shots and or montages needed in places.

The story doesn't make full since... why they are fighting. And his sudden change of loyalty in a few hours maybe a few months or something.

Will finish reading and get back on the second half.

How interesting.

Thanks for sharing that -- I enjoy those little tidbits of authenticity that I stumble across on the boards once in a while -- and now I can avoid making such an error myself.

Wow - funny you mentioned authenticity Bert, because I think there's a huge suspension of belief that needs to happen before we buy an Earth as spaceship premise.

1. The sun is not due to "go bad" for another billion years, or at least several hundred million or so. Scientists can calculate this by the rate at which it converts hydrogen to helium. So it's not like you can imagine a society a hundred years from now - you're talking millions - so your Earthlings, if any still existed,  would be barely recognizable to any moviegoer...

2. Speaking of barely existing, there are plenty of other natural disasters that will do in us Earthlings long before the sun threatens to go Nova - the primary one being, I believe, that the Earth's magnetic field is weakening, and once that goes - probably within several thousand to 20,000 years - we will be exposed to the sun's ultraviolet rays and we will cook into non-existence (Happy Friday everyone!!)...

3. I can't think of any impending disaster that would threaten the sun - certainly not from Earth at a distance of 93 million miles - or anything that would speed up its fuel burning process...

4. Even a million or so years into the future, how much fuel would it take to power thrusters to move a planet? There are I'm sure readily calculable numbers. Certainly there's not enough fossil fuel because we argue over how much to put in our tanks. Synthetic fuel? Still not enough. Fusion? Not sure what the damage would be to the regions of the planet that house these massive engines. And if we had the technology to build these gigantic planet moving thrusters, we could likely build the starships we see in every other movie, or colonize / terraform the moon and/or Mars, etc.

Hush, Russo.  You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

And the best part is that it will be shaped like a giant, kick-ass guitar.

Yup, I have just enough scientific knowledge to be dangerous(ly idiotic)...

Ah, it just came to me! Three words:

Gravity inversion field...

Of course the Earth is too massive to be moved by thrusters the size of which can actually fit on the planet (plus you have to account for the mass of the thrusters to boot).

But...

If you turned off gravity?

So a scientist invents a Gravity inversion field - relayed by hundreds of satellites stationed around the globe - which is a push-pull that essentially collapses the force of gravity in on itself, allowing the Earth to be free of the Sun's pull and thus 'freefall' through space...

Of course there's also a command center that can direct the waves, thus allowing the Earth to be steered...

How is this accomplished? Well that's the fiction part of science fiction - remember, there's science fiction and then there's fiction fiction, and there's a big difference between a flux capacitor in a comedy and a pseudo-scientific premise that must carry a science fiction film...

Yeah I hate seeing stuff like that in movies. But if anyone ever has military related questions they can hit me up... my specialty is communications and search and rescue and general maritime. But I do know other military branch policies and procedures ect.

Ah, it just came to me! Three words:

Gravity inversion field...
JR: Gravity cannot be inverted unless we suddenly start moving the earth's rotation and revolution the other way, but even that would produce another form of Gravity, but we might have a "Moment" of stilled earth, which might cause a NANO-moment of Gravity inversion. Gravity is not just associated to weight, mass and speed of earth moving around Sun, but it has to do with the basic three forces at play all over the cosmos (Even in Vacuum)
RHYTHM, INERTIA and MOBILITY.

Of course the Earth is too massive to be moved by thrusters the size of which can actually fit on the planet (plus you have to account for the mass of the thrusters to boot).
JR: It is just a matter of imagining things, an ANT can move and cause the death of an elephant.

But...

If you turned off gravity?
JR: There's NO turning on and off SWITCH unfortunately. There are NO wires either, no rigging the building W-7 here is possible.

So a scientist invents a Gravity inversion field -
JR: A scientist would never think of anything that has to DEFY or DENY convention such as Light, Sound, Radar, Laser, Gravity, Escape Velocity of Oxygen etc.
It can be a "Mad scientist" which is such a common theme in Hollywood.
Doc Ock to Riddler to Joker.

relayed by hundreds of satellites stationed around the globe - which is a push-pull that essentially collapses the force of gravity in on itself, allowing the Earth to be free of the Sun's pull and thus 'free fall' through space...
JR: If you really consider SPACE, everything is already at a FREE fall and NOT. You can't cause anything beyond the atmosphere, because your ability to "Cause" finishes once you leave that field. If you do happen to CAUSE something, then the effect could be multiplied by 100s of times if not millions. Cause and Effect doesn't even work perfectly for us on earth, unfortunately. Isn't that why, some folks try to get away with Karma? But, can't!

Of course there's also a command center that can direct the waves, thus allowing the Earth to be steered...
JR: The Mind is the most powerful command center, in my humble opinion.

How is this accomplished? Well that's the fiction part of science fiction - remember, there's science fiction and then there's fiction fiction, and there's a big difference between a flux capacitor in a comedy and a pseudo-scientific premise that must carry a science fiction film...

JR: Nice.
