Quiet Desperation by Gregg (gnap3799) - Drama - This is a story about two complete strangers who grow up under horrendous conditions.  Penny Miller waits for her father to come home from work one fall afternoon and take her for a special dress and ice-cream that he promised to get her the night before.  Penny is five years old and she waits for hours by the window, until she falls asleep holding a picture she had drawn for him that day in school. Unfortunately her father has run away with another woman never to return. - doc, format

Forget about when or where the opening credits should be. Leave it for the director and just concentrate in telling your story.

Scene headings must be IN CAPS.

Just use DAY or NIGHT in scene headings. Donīt use "Late evening", "next morning 7am", etc. The audience is only able to gather wether it is day or night when watching a movie. Exceptionally, you can use DAWN, for example.

Donīt put additional info in your sluglines, besides when and where the scene takes place. Specially info that the camera canīt show, like: "Int. 7PM AT NIGHT 1 hour AFTER KEVIN IS SUPPOSED TO BE HOME"

When you introduce a character, do it in caps, and telling his/her age is recomended. Like: PENNY (30) is asleep....

Avoid writing info that the camera canīt record, like "She is a submissive wife and doesn’t let Kevin know she knows something is up." The screen canīt show what someone is thinking.

Nowadays, the use of transitions is often considered not neccesary. When a new scene heading appears, the change of scene is implied. No need to write CUT TO.
