Your probably wondering why i have been reviewing older  mvoies lately. Me too. I guess i just feel like it. Anyway, i borrowed out the video (its not on DVD, but the sequal is) for Scream, and watched it for the thrid time since 1999, when i first ever watched with my friends, at age nine. Even then, it wasnt scary, but i loved it for some reason, so i  watched it again, at age eleven, and now here i am, reaviewing it. Anyway, why is this a comedy? I dont see it. Sure it hhad tounge in cheek, but so did the Chucky series. Anyway, my fav part in the film is the begging with Casey Beacker. Its like a classical scene now. ' No, you listen, you little bitch, if you hang up again ill gut you liek a fish". That line gets me every time. I donnt knw why. Maybe it's because it is when the  conversation turns obsece/dangerous. But that line just creeps me out. And the final shot of Caseuy hanging on the swing is also very screepy. And i knod to Kevin Williamson, for his great screenpaly, i have read it, in fact it was one of the forst scripts i read on this website. If i ever write a slasher i WILL follow Sceam's rules. ..

have you seen the movies I review? They are from the 80's and early 90's so I think you're safe. One of these days I'll be reviewing a 1930's film, an original.

I review every movie I watch on my own site and I have about 60-odd reviews for movies from 1919-2005 so far. I started reviewing them about 2 months ago or so. I can actually post them here if anyone cares, but I figured it'd be too much.

As for Scream, it is on DVD, and it is not a comedy. I think you are thinking of it's spoof, Scary Movie, which was Scream's original title. I really liked Scream the first time I saw it. It had a good plot, good characters, a nice twist, some good scares, and even some laughs in what should have been very tense scenes. I'll never forget Tatum opening the freezer door on Ghostface and seeing his feet fly up into the air as he hit the floor.

Scream is responsible for the resurgence of the teen scream flicks in the late 90's, and some of its later bedfellows did not fare as well using the same formula. Scream used an ancient formula in its writing, but since it had been awhile, it was new to the audiences. For the moment, though, it has been sadly overdone, and we need another break before it can come back around again.
