I just watched Donnie Darko and it was the sadest (and freakist) movie ive ever seen and the people at both video stores and at the movie theater know me by firs name, types of video rentals. I watch alot of films and this is the second movie I havent been able to understand the ending of. I think Donnie traveled back into time some how but that still doesnt explain what the fuck happened. Could someone please give me an idiot proof explaination on what happened in the end. Please explain that wierd rabbit fucker, also include if he died, how the hell was the movie there? I got the part about the plaine engine being his moms that got sent to the past but someone explain how that ties in and everything else. please and thanks.

Here you go hon - check out this link. It does a great job of explaining everything about the story, amongst other things. I actually learnt a bit from it and said this out loud a few times - "Ohhhhhhhh"...lol.. now I get it too.

The even more puzzling queston is: why did the Frank guy where a  giant buny siut for Halloween? He could've had a demon suit, a saan suit, ubt no, it had to be a bunny siut.

I really enjoyed Donnie Darko and I'm glad I bought it. It might not be a big budget movie and it may not of got any real exposure, but it was a very dark and interesting movie. To anyone who wants a crazy movie experience, rent this movie or buy it. Oh and to answer Ben's question, be it retorical or not, The bunny suit was related to the book donnie's class was reading in school, "watership down". If you watch the movie again you'll notice the connections. lol I love that movie!

Last year the SBS Movie Show in Australia, had a national poll to find out what Australia's most popular film was. Donnie Darko finished in the top 10. Just for the record, Lord of the Rings came in at number 1.

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting the Movie Show moved from SBS to the ABC. It was an interesting poll, yeah? I was thrilled to see Fight Club hit the top ten.

I just watched this movie again (probably for the 15th time or so). I'd give it a 3 or 4 out of 10. Clearly, I don't like the movie as much as everyone else. It's interesting and shows potential at times, though.
