If you can't find a story to tell in Germany, moving to the United States won't help.  Stories can be found anywhere and the only way you'll improve your writing style is to write.  Reading other people's work also helps.

It sounds to me like you're trying to hard and thinking too much about it.  That leads to more pressure on the mind and before you know it, you're going crazy because you can't think of anything to write and you just give up.  

If you want to strengthen your writing skills, I suggest you hang around the boards, you'll learn alot.  I guarantee it.
