I was surprised there was nothing on this here all ready, as it was announced a little while ago after "Shaun of the Dead" was such a success.  Well, at first, it was just talked about, but now it look like it's getting ready to shoot under the direction of Edgar Wright (director of "Shaun") from a script written by Wright and Simon Pegg (co-writer and star of "Shaun").  Not only is the idea about this one very cool (basically, it will be doing the same mock-type of film for movies like "Lethal Weapon" that "Shaun" did for the living dead flicks), but it seems Wright, Pegg and Co. have brought together a very stellar British cast:

Probably the two biggest additions I am happy about are Nick Frost (Ed was my favorite character in "Shaun") and Martin Freeman (he was PERFECT as Arthur Dent in "Hitchhiker's Guide" and I greatly enjoyed him in both "Love, Actually" and the original "The Office").  And if Wright and Pegg can make this just half as good as "Shaun of the Dead" was, I will be a very happy man.

Cheers.

I loved Shaun of the Dead so I am going to see this if it comes to the U.S., which I think it will since Shaun of the Dead did.

I found an interview with Simon Pegg here.

Just found this out today, throughout the filming process Pegg, Frost and Wright recorded a regular video blog which is available on the Hot Fuzz section of the Working Title website. Check them out here

The cast is what's getting me pumped up about it. I mean, yeah, Pegg and Frost are in it but there's also Martin Freeman (brilliant in every film I've seen him in) and Timothy "Bloomin'" Dalton... one of the best James Bonds I think. I haven't seen him in a film since those days as Bond, so it'll be nice to see him in something different. Among them are more British class acts: Steve Coogan, Bill Nighy and Jim Broadbent!

Man, this... should... rock.

Also, with the same team comes the same taste in humour as Shaun of the Dead... can't bloody wait.

I am also eagerly anticipating Hot Fuzz. There has beena  lot of hype for some time and it will live up to it.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing this movie. Bill Nighy is in it. He had the best line of Shaun of the Dead:

"I'm quite all right, Barbara, I ran it under a cold tap."

When's the release date?

Bill. Nighy. Is. God.

Shaun of the Dead was awesome. Hopefully this can live up to it.

Cheers, Chismeister.

It's released Feb 14th here in England and I can't wait should be excellent.  Dunno if the people over the pond have heard of a tv show called 'Spaced' but this where Pegg, Frost and Wright started and it's the best show ever.  Every episode has so many references to movies it's hard to keep up.  Also one episode spawned the movie 'Shawn of the Dead'.  check it out if you haven't already, you won't be dissapointed.
