Sorry if there is already a thread about this film!

In an article posted on ComingSoon.net:

Is Fox adding another superhero movie to line-up for 2007? According to The Hollywood Reporter, that's exactly what they are doing:

The promise of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine headlining a spinoff of 20th Century Fox's "X-Men" franchise next year was a highlight of Day 2 here at Cine Expo.

20th Century Fox promised the gathered exhibitors a Jackman starrer titled "Wolverine" for next year and Jackman himself sent the show a taped promise to back up the news.

UPDATE: The trade has now updated its article and has removed any mention of a 2007 release.

Cool pic. Jackman looks badass.

Should be a good flick.

I must say, the trailer was pretty damn good. It exceeded my expectations. However, that lame hero-walking-cool-with-an-explosion-in-the-background bit could've very well been omitted. I cannot believe filmmakers still think that such an overused Action cliche still looks cool.

I think that scene would be better off in the cutting room floor. But the movie does not look bad at all. I'm looking forward to it, actually.

Maybe if they played some Black Sabbath song while this was happening....

Did anyone catch the Blob in the trailer.  Looked pretty good.

Yeah, Phil, I thought did see The Blob in there but I'm not sure. I never read the X-Men comics but I used to watch the cartoons as a little kid all the time.

Gambit is *finally* there too. That's bad-ass. He used to be my favorite. Emma Frost (I confess that I have no idea who she is) seems to be a fan-favorite too and she's also included.

There is also a young white-haired girl in the trailer. That couldn't be anyone else but Storm, but I don't know how that is gonna fit into the story.

Anyhow, I'll be watching this opening night. :D

Just seen the final trailer. Looks pretty cool. A few things that don't make sense though. Why does Deadpool shoot laser beams thingys out of his eyes? Secondly, why does he have claws and weird tatoo like scars? I know this is a movie and not a comic book, but come on Fox, seriously. Why is the young Scott Summers in it too? He doesn't need to be. And where's Beak?

Apart from my rant, I have a feeling the movie will have some pretty cool action in it but no substance. I don't know why Fox decided to hire Gavin Hood to direct. They should of gone with Len Wiseman or Mathew Vaughn. Vaughn IS a true fan of comics and REALLY understands them. I've met him, briefly. He's a really cool guy.

Well that's my 2 cents.

I laughed at this trailer. Part of me is worried because Fox is notorious for dropping the ball on good franchises. After X3 I think Rothman has proven his company is more about money then making good films. And the production road here has been  bumpy, so in the end we have to ask, how much quality was sacrificed to turn a profit?
