The Spanish-speaking pop music train is here. With Shakira straddling the line between the English-speaking and Spanish-speaking world for some time, an exciting new group of Spanish pop singers are here. One of my favorite being Julieta Venegas.

I saw my first concert in Guadalajara, Mexico last night. After hearing Julieta Venegas's semi-new album, Limon y Sal, a few months ago I was amazed and enthusiastic about this new sound emerging from Spanish-speaking world (Mexico, particularly). My Spanish is rough, to say the least, but that was in no way a hinderance to enoying the original sounds of Julieta. She's an amazing performer with amazing musical talent. I guess anyone who can jam with an accordian is pretty darn good in my book.

Her sound is worth checking out and I doubt you'll be disappointed with her music, even if you don't speak Spanish!

The Mexican music revolution is here, I suppose. I'm just glad I'm here to enjoy it.

She came to my town about a week ago and gave a free concert. Mind you, it was for some sort of Autumn Festival or whatever, so my classmates and I had to go by force for a school essay.

Obviously, she was the closing of the event since she was the biggest star. My friend's band also performed.

I really don't like Julieta Venegas, but it was free and in the end the concert wasn't as bad as I'd have thought. I liked some of the songs even though I *hate* pop music.
