Hello Fellow Writers - Print Topic

My name is Jamie, and I've been writing screenplays for five years. I'm not going to lie like some people do about my age, and I hope that doesn't make me an outcast here. I'm 15 years of age.

I started out at the age of 9 by writing play by play stuff for baseball. Then when I was ten some science fiction movie inspired me to write a script about me being the hero, and saving the world from an alien called Comto.

Then I got more into it, and figured out how to correctly format my scripts.

I'm glad to be a part of this community of what seems to be full of tips, information, and creative minds.

Remember to read scripts and give feedback.Cause it is usually only way you will recieve feedback on your material

Jamie,

You're 15 and have been writing since nine?! That's great. Makes me think you might actually have something to say. Keep writing! Write what interests you. Fact is, if it interests you, it'll probably interest others. Don't waste your time trying to appeal to a mass audience -- unless you enjoy boring summer block busters. If you do, have at it.

If not, be honest. Be yourself. If half the people love ya, and the other half hate ya, you'll know you're doing something right.

I actually started at 10, but I started writing a script for two mariners announcers. Haha. Thank you all for the warm welcome.

One of my favorite songs of all time is Alice In Chain's hit, "Man in the Box"... I happened to be listening to it when I was signing up for the site, and my email is also child in the box....

So yeah...

don't worry about your age man im only 17 and i havent written a script yet, i started one and im on the 2nd page so far, anyways your gonna love it here, by far the best place to learn about screenwriting, when i first joined i knew jack all about screenwriting and formatting and this site has given me answers, tips, and confidence to write.

also i listen to the writters commentary on some movies, it helps me a bit.

When I was 15 we would only be able to write scripts on a computer using 1's and 0's.
