First of all I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Don, the former member of this board Kevan and all the other regulars here who have helped me so much over the years with understanding scriptwriting and writing in general, I could no way in hell have gotten to where I am today without all of you wonderful people on this board, my deepest thanks and gratitude goes out to all of you.

Second, I decided to post this here because I couldn't find a more suitable place to do it in, it's been so long since I've been here. hehe :)

A couple of words about the movie in general, the script isn't posted on here, that I regret but I simply haven't had time (or the motivation) to translating the script from Norwegian to english and posting it on here. the entire script is on 84 pages and was written by me and my friend Tommy. The feature film entitled "Helten" (The Hero) (sounds cheesy in english but not in norwegian, don't worry) is our first attempt of a feature film. It's about Kevin (played by Tommy, who's a very good actor actually) who's been toyling with drugs in his family for as long as he can remember. He is both tired and frustrated with seeing Molde (a city in Norway where the movie takes place) developing more and more into what Oslo (the Norwegian capitol) is today.

This is the teaser trailer for me and my teams first feature film project which will be released in theatres (or theatre, as in: not plural. It all depends on what people think of it) this fall.

Well, it's a very long teaser, but it's a teaser none the same.

One thing: the reason why it has such a low rating is because some giant butthole spammed the video an hour ago.

I'd reccomend pressing the "watch in high quality" button, cos the quality went down considerably when we uploaded it. It's still not ultimate quality when you push "high quality" but it's the best we can do when uploading on youtube.

Please watch, comment, and provide some constructive critisism if you got it.

Hi Daniel, I can't to say anything about it because it is a teaser, but I loved the soundtrack (French?)  and the actors seemed to me very nice. I hope it comes be a great sucess in Norway.

Thanks Helio, yes that song is french, we put it on there because it's only a youtube video and we can't get in copyright trouble if we just don't show it anywhere else than on youtube. hehe, we're smart xD

we're hoping for a lot of sucess in norway, yes :)

It isn't, and if it were discovered the musician could ask to have it removed if they were so inclined. I don't see things happening like that too often, though, unless it's something owned by one of the major networks or studios.

Anyway, good teaser.

I had those crappy productions of Not Even Death pulled off of youtube a few months back.

Well, let's just hope that doesn't happen :)

Thanks, Mike :)

I should have mentioned you in the first post in this thread, dogglebe. your negative attitude and constant critisism was a real help for me to work better on my writing. (please don't be offended, I meant that in a very positive way:))

Would you be so cavalier if it happened to you?

Well, if it happened then we'd just put the teaser up again without anything copyrighted in it, no big deal really.

But, what'd you think? I know you've got something to critisize about it, and I really want to hear it :)

I have nothing to criticize as I haven't seen it.

Nice looking teaser, Daniel.  I'm not really certain I drawn to see the film from it because it doesn't really tell me much about the story (unless it's a love story).  But it does look good and it introduces the cast.

Daniel,

the fact that you are still just a teenager and have accomplished this is a amazing.

Congratulations and good luck with it.

As far as the teaser goes, I think it looks good, but it doesn't really make me want to watch it. It has nothing to do with the film itself but rather I'm too old to get too interested in a teen movie... All my kids are older than you. ;D

Still though... very nice job!

lol, me :P hey, you and mcornetto has the same avatar :D

thanks to you both for your compliments, yeah this teaser here was mostly just made to show off some of our footage from the first week of filming, but a good and full trailer will be up next month when we've shot everything and we're finished with the photography. Guess we all just have to sit back and wait :)

When I wrote it I was trying to keep the drug scenes (those we haven't shot yet) very adult and mature so this would appeal to older audiences, I hope you'll respond better to the real trailer when we're done with it :)

A behind the scenes part 1 video is up now, if anyone wants to take a look. It's in Norwegian so you won't understand nothing but could still be a little interesting to watch. By the way, I'm the guy in the beginning who closes the trunk :D hehe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPUQ91lQHmg

EDIT: Hey, Pia! you're from sweden, so you'll understand it, hehe. Didn't realize you were "me" untill I had posted this.

Hey Daniel,

Nice teaser, man. congrats.

Be sure to let us know when the full trailer is online.

Looks pretty cool man... I agree with what the other members say about it looking good, but not making us want to see the film... I couldn't really guess the story line from the clip... I could guess the theme (relationships and drugs?), but thats about it... but still, it looks pretty cool man.

Also, how old are you? I see the above members making comments about your age... but its cool to see another younger member on here, with similar aims as me (Me and my mate who goes to film school plan to direct a film sometime in late 08/ 09).

And now, I've got a few questions to ask you, on the filming side;

1. What camera did you use to film it?
2. What other equipment did you use? Boom mic, lighting etc.
3. How long did it take to film?
4. How much did it cost you? Did you rent the equipment, or already own it?

But yeah, I would definatly like to watch this man... I love foreign films, and I love independant films... when the two are combined, it creates an awesome hybrid. Will I be able to watch it when it is completed? And will it have English subtitles?

Take it easy man, and congrats with this.

I am 17 years old and I'm directing, writing and I have a small Alfred Hitchcock-style cameo in the film:)

We're using a Sony HVR-Z1E for A-photo and a Sony HVR A1E for B-photo, that's two cameras in total. plus lights and a microphone(held up by me if we need it, we don't have a boom). All of this is provided by our director of photography (a 27 year old) who we're paying 4000 dollars for the job.

What you see in the trailer we spent one week to film, it's only half finished the other half will be filmed in one week in 20 days. as for additional costs, we have a person who's making a soundtrack for us (theme music and so on) as I understand it he wanted 4000 too but I'm not totally 100% on that. we also plan to buy some songs off an independent rapper who lives here (songs for party scenes and car scenes ect.)

We will be publishing on DVD and make both Norwegian and english subtitles so if you want to see it, just keep in touch and I'll send you a copy :)

Hey Daniel,

Congrats on making a movie - that's awesome.

The teaser trailer itself is horrible though imo. I have no clue as to what this film will be about and nothing in me really want's to see it. Slapping a teaser together might work for Hollywood cos' they obviously have a certain amount of draw power given the actors and what not. This, of course, doesn't have that for obvious reasons.

And on a technical note, I personally don't like when we see characters talking when they're muted due to the soundtrack playing over the whole thing, cos' part of me thinks that if it was important enough to show them talking, why wasn't it important enough to hear them talking? Doing a trailer with only a musical soundtrack you should never show characters talking when we can't hear them anyway. To me it looks very amateurish. Stay with the action shots and the emotion and leave out anything that doesn't tell a story.

That's the kind of critizism that makes me come back here regularly, thanks Sniper, I'll keep it in mind for the future :)

Nice stuff Daniel. I will keep in touch, and I will definatly buy a DVD of this.

Do you have any plans to send it to any festivels of anything?

Not really, Norway is a small country, I'm confident we'll be able to sell it without a whole lot of difficulty.

Hey Daniel, just checked this out and it looks OK, no idea what it's about of course.  Even with the translation, I'm a bit clueless lol.  I guess it's a bout vengance or justice lol.

We'd like to keep a lid on it untill we've shot the rest. All the really cool scenes havent been shot yet, we've just shot the dialouge scenes and establishing.

The full story will be revealed when the real trailer is up. which will take a month or two. hehe. untill that just read the first post on this thread and watch the teasers to figure it out on your own :)

thanks for watching :)
