Hello everyone!

I'm a new member and this is my first post.  Still finding my way around the site and having alot of fun reading your work!

I just wanted to introduce myself, so I'll keep this brief.

I live in the UK.  I'm 25.  And I love film!  I've been writing for about the last five years.  I've recently formed a partnership with an independent filmmaker and we're in the processing of completing our first film together.  It's a short called 'The Woodland Graves'.  We also have a number of other projects in the works.

While I'm enjoying this collaboration, my heart lies with writing features and I'm very close to completing my first.  It's a horror.  And it's called 'Bobby Leigh Died at Sea'.  Though I live in the UK, I've written it as an American film, intended for the Hollwood market.

Anyhoo.  I think I'll leave it there for the moment.  Just wanted to say 'hey'.

PS.  I'm currently reading 'Fade to White' by Dreamscale so my next post will be to do a review on that.

Cheers.

Nice to see another English member... the more the merrier ;)

Hope you enjoy your stay man... Make sure you read a selection of shorts, for various different writers; there are some real gems on this board.

Welcome to the boards, S.W.

It is always nice to see a new member who is not afraid to jump right in and contribute to the script boards with reviews.

God knows, we already have enough 13-year-olds who find each and every thread "Awesome!!!!"

Thoughtful reviews on the works of others is how you get your own work read down the road.  Nice to have you.

Oh, you've noticed, Bert. Btw, is your 'delete-post' button out of order? ;)

Bert, I thought your post was Awesome.

Thanks for the fine welcome, all.

I've not really had chance to review anything properly yet.  I gave a few comments on Dreamscale's 'Fade to White'.  But it seems I've been reading an older version.  He's forwarded his latest and when I've read that, hopefully, I'll have more to say on it.

I sent him a portion of one of my own scripts to read.  I'd be interested in posting it up on here for the rest of you to take a look at.

Can anybody tell me where the best place to post an incomplete script would be?

Thanks for the heads up, Sniper.

Can a script be posted in PDF in this section though?

Sure, but you can't post a file directly in a thread, you'll have to post a link to the file.

Greetings silverwolfe,

What you can do is post the PDF in webspace somewhere.  I use freewebs, it's fast and easy.   And then you would put a link to it in your post.

Otherwise you can post it as text right in the post itself, as some like to do. You have a limit of about 8000 chars per post though, so you might have to divide it into more than one.

If the script is finished you can just use the regular unproduced page to submit your script.

Cheers,

Michael

Don't I feel the idiot.

See, I don't know how to do that.

Do yourself a favour and don't use this option. It screws up your format if you're not extremely careful.

The shortest answer is to finish the script and post it up.  Don does not post incomplete scripts on the boards.

Few people are interested in reading an incomplete work, and if you think about it, the feedback you get will be of only nominal value, as the whole story has yet to be revealed.

The "Work in Progress" board is supposed to be (ideally) for those who are stuck and need advice on an ongoing project.  That does not appear to be the case here.

Thanks everybody.

I'll figure it out.  I'd rather post it as PDF.  I'd rather it retain its format for when people read it.  I just need to figure how to post a link

Thanks again.

Ah.  Thanks for the advice bert.

In that case I finish my first draft and THEN post a complete script.

I guess I was just being too eager!

I've been looking for some feedback by people who know what they're talking about for a while.

Once again, thanks all.

The easiest way (in my opinion) to upload a PDF file on the internet is:

http://freepdfhosting.com/

You have to join the site (make a quick account), then you can upload the file. Then it provides you a direct link, which you can post up here :)

Or, as I and others have recommended, you can just wait until it's finished.

Toby.

I noticed that as well. Fortunately, while I don't look at as many threads as Bert does, my delete button is working fairly well. I've hit an LOL or two here and there. Irritating little punks.

Oh yes, and welcome to the boards, Silverwolf. Nice name...
