SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Getting to know you, getting to know all about you...  /  Ron And Julie - George's stuff on Amazon

So before I wrote any screenplays, I wrote musicals. I was good enough at the music that I started working with some Swedish guys on a musical/rock opera that one of them had started on before then called Ron and Julie. Throughout the writing process, I contributed considerably to the story, libretto, lyrics, and several songs. Back in 2000, they decided to record some of the songs and put out an album to showcase it. A few were put out, but the album never really did anything. The show did get produced on a college stage in Sweden in Swedish (I can say I've had something I've written translated), but the album remained stagnant. Finally, through my own devices, I was able to get the album released to the public. It's available as the physical disc, but if you prefer your albums all digital, it's available as an MP3 download as well (and you can hear song samples on either page).

To this day, the album continues to be enjoyed by all who've admitted to hearing it. I figure those who didn't like just didn't admit to listening to it.  :P

Anyway, here are the links to Amazon. One is the physical disc if you gotta have your media to hold, and the other is the MP3's if you prefer your media digital, or just want to tackle it piecemeal. I, personally, have only one song on here and it's at the tail end of the tune "Downtown." It almost sounds like how I wrote it to begin with.

If I were to recommend one song (and I didn't write this one), I would say "More Stars Than In Heaven." It's easily one of the best songs I've ever heard. Seriously. The first time I heard it was on cassette when my main collaborator over there sent me the first version of it, and I was blown away. The other songs are good, but that one is beautiful.
