"There's something wrong with Esther". Holy crap, yes there is. In the Orphan, a child named Esther, gets adopted by a family who has been wanting another child for over a year. After a little while of Esther acting like a sweet little girl, her true self comes through in horrific ways.
Guys, this script was actually terrifying. I'm glad to see it has an R rating, allowing the true horror to still be there. This thing is genuinely creepy. The way the script was written was great. Clocking in at 119 pages,a relatively long horror script/film.
Not all was great. I swear, in the first 50, no, 55 pages there was one death, and it happened at the beginning. It's not tense all the time, it's pretty slow moving and i had a major problem with that.
However, when it does crank up the scare and gore factor, it's just scary as crap.
The Twist: Didn't see it coming. It was great, but not quite what i was expecting. It will be interesting to see this translate onto film.
Very gory. Very creepy, doesn't use too many horror cliches either.
