John Hughes has died of a heart attack.
Hughes suffered the heart attack while taking a morning walk during a trip to NYC to visit family.
He directed such '80s hit films as "The Breakfast Club," "Pretty in Pink," "Sixteen Candles" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
He was 59.

That's really sad, because beside the bad movies he could have done, he was a great man. The Breakfast Club, , Planes, Trains & Automobiles, She's Having a Baby, Beethoven and National Lampoon's European Vacation are among my favorite movies.

How sad! I liked all of those Michel, except for The Breakfast Club. For some reason Ringwald always made me wanna throw popcorn at the screen.

He made the film that was spun off into an awesome TV show in the 90's.

That's too bad. He wrote a lot fun stuff in the 80s. I only watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles again a litte while ago. And of course Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Breakfast Club are 80s classics. Even my 15 year old daughter likes them. Mr Mom was pretty good too.

Well, that certainly sucks. I was kind of hoping he was someday gearing for a comeback.
But odds are, he probably would have just gone back to the well and we'd have a "Home Alone" reboot or something.

Absolutely shocking... Well, in the context of other shocking deaths, I guess. I remember when Bob Clark died... That really was a shock. It blew me away. This is another one to add to the tally.

I saw Planes and Trains at least seven times at the cinema. I still watch it at least once a year. Bueller, Bueller? Bless, another one gone. RIP.
I heard Budd Shulberg died today too, he who wrote 'On The Waterfront'. Didn't like his politics, but I did admire his writing. RIP too you too.

Very sad news. RIP. The man knew how to write and how to direct. He wrote what in my opinion is one of the funniest scenes ever recorded:

Wow. I don't know how I missed Budd Schulberg died. What a great writer!
Indeed. I nearly missed it myself. That fella could really write. I think when his time came he had the same misfortune as Farrah Fawcett and Aldous Huxley.
