The Town is Ben Affleck’s directorial follow up to the excellent Gone Baby Gone. It’s an adaptation of the Chuck Hogan book Prince of Thieves, which won the 2005 Hammett Prize for excellence in crime writing. I don't know why he changed the title for the movie adaptation. Affleck has also cast himself to play the main character, so it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.
