69 pages?  A 69 page short?

Good luck getting reads...way too long for a short, and too short for a feature.

Please post this somewhere other than in the "shorts" thread. No way do I come to "shorts" to read a 69 page script.

Not forcing,well of course. But obviously the contributor posted it in hopes of it being read. That's a reasonable assumption, yes?

So placing a script in the appropriate category is THE premier way to ensure the chance of being read.

Placing a 69 page script in a category called SHORTS, where some scripts are 2 pages long and the longest are maybe 15, is a bad way to attempt to get your script read. It'd be like placing a bodice ripper novel in the biography section at the bookstore and wondering why nobody's buying your book.

I think the author might have a better chance of being read (which, again, I presume is what
he wants) by placing the script in the appropriate category, even if it is a bit short for a feature. Someone whose hunkering down to read a full length feature script 120 pages long will be more likely to read a 70 pager.

That's all I'm (and others) are saying.

Hey MP, no offense, but to explain (as I do occasionally), the author did not "request" the "Shorts" category.

The author chose "action adventure", but when a script is 75 pages or less, it will get moved to shorts.  Don posts them on-the-fly, with whatever the author says, and I will move them when I spot them (so it is really just me doing this, in the interests of full disclosure).

The rule may be "bent" for an active author whom we can be assured knows what they are doing.  A name I do not recognize just gets swapped.

You are right that nobody comes to shorts looking for 69 pages, but it is also true nobody browses a feature looking for 69 pages.  I acknowledge that 75 pages is (a little) arbitrary, but there is no “formal” definition that separates a short from a feature.  At least, I am not aware of anything definitive out there.

i liked it, i liked the concept, zombies in a hospital, and it was well executed in my opinion, keep it up pal
