SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Questions or Comments  /  Board suggestion: General Scriptwriting Chat

I've been away for a few years, but am eager to get back into community. One thing about the discussion forum really caught my eye now that I'm reading the boards again: There doesn't seem to be a logical place for simple writing chatter. The boards listed under the screenwriting discussion section are pretty specialized for a specific sort of questions/discussion.

So I'm suggesting that maybe we should have a general scriptwriting board for all sorts of informal writing chatter, like our favourite software, stories from writing and production, things that we've found and just plain musings about what we might be working on at the moment.

I've noticed that a lot of that content is divided between this board, which is somewhat misleading since the board description indicates that this is specifically for site related questions or comments and the screenwriting class board which similarly indicates a special usage case in the description.

Might be bad or redundant of an idea, but wanted to throw this out there if people should find the idea appealing.

I can see why you would make that particular suggestion.  I don't think it's a bad idea at all because it would make things clearer.

However, I think what you want to chat about can be discussed in the Screenwriting Class thread.  I didn't see any specific rules saying you can't just talk about Screenwriting there but I didn't read every line of every sticky.

If you're still unsure you could use General Chat, even if it's about screenwriting.   If one of the mods thinks the thread would be better elsewhere then they will move it.
