  • Sometimes when a script is optioned or produced the director will ask that the script be removed from online sites.
  • Sometimes an author might not like leaving negative comments hanging around attached to their scripts.
  • Sometimes an author gets angry at the site or a person on the site.  They pull their scripts down and leave.
  • Sometimes an author might decide they didn't like their own script and they ask for it to be removed.
  • Etc. Etc. there's not really just one reason, there are many.

A couple of reasons I can think of are:

a) the script was bought/optioned and the producer do not want the script floating around in cyberspace

b) we all constantly evolve as writers and sometimes you go back and read a script you wrote several years ago and you realize that it basically sucks. So a quick way to disassociate yourself from the script is to ask Don to delete it (especially if you don't plan on rewriting it).

There are probably other reasons but those two popped into my head.

EDIT: See Cornetto's post.

I think I've only asked for one to be removed and it was because it was terrible :)

I've asked that scripts be taken off the boards because they're being developed.  We use to have someone on the boards who often would have his script taken down after a month.  He wanted feedback but didn't want it to linger.
