No, not Vic Mackey and the team but the law enforcement agency from the Marvel comics universe.

Yes, fans of the Avengers will be happy to hear this news.

ABC have ordered a pilot of S.H.I.E.L.D set to be written and directed by Mr. Whedon himself.

They say production is expected to begin ASAP.

I like his two co-writers too. Their work on "Dollhouse" was some of the best.

There was always talk of this being part of the package...
Provided The Avengers was a mega hit.
ABC wants another superhero show, since No Ordinary Family didn't work out.
I hope Whedon gets what he wants. He certainly deserves it IMHO.

Even the tone of the new Avengers short feels Whedonesque...
