Fan-freakin'-goddamn-tastic. A wonderful complement to the franchise and a gloriously gothic, darkly comic suspense thriller in its own right.

This has about everything you could ask from a Chucky movie and functions as a challenge to horror filmmakers and low-budget filmmakers alike. Pitch-perfect character work, clever twists, great suspense sequences, fun gore, and about every nod to franchise history that fans could ask for. Basically confined to one setting and makes the absolute most of it. Lots to learn for screenwriters with this one.

Not to mention, this one stars not one, but two Dourifs…one of whom I'd sure like to buy a drink or two…(it's not Wormtongue.)

About the best you could ask out for this kinda low-budget filmmaking. Shameless entertainment with just enough substance to keep you engaged and a cast and crew that's obviously having a great time.

Wish I could agree, but I just can't.

I'll say this, though, much better than I assumed it would be, and probably better than it deserved to be.

But, I wasn't impressed overall.  Actually, I can hardly remember much now, other than how redonkulous it was how CHucky even got into the plot.

But, part 2, I loved the very ending, and I won't spoil the "surprise".

Haha I think many may agree with you, Jeff. I'm guessing that a lot of my love for this movie comes from watching other people work at this kind of budget and totally screw it up. But I also really liked the old-fashioned feel.

For what followed before it?  Seed of Chucky was garbage....

This was way better.  It wasn't a bad movie and it wasn't a good movie.

For a Chucky movie?  It was good... even if Chucky's one liners ruined scenes that had a real cold ferocity to it.

But, let's also remember it's a horror film about a killer doll -- who's become sort of the wise-crackin' type...

you should know what you're getting into even before you put the movie on.
