Sean & Robert,

Funny take on the Blu e-cig commercials! Really enjoyed the last one with Stephen taking the doughnuts from the set. Who is this guy? Classic line.

Thank you for the read(s), Dirk. This is a series of faux commercials my brother and I have devised. We have 20 in mind, but these are the first three completed ones, so I hope you'll enjoy the rest of them when they're officially available. =)

Excellent formatting, strange concept which begs the question..."why?".

Oh well, "why not?".

But 20... Seriously Sean?

Funny stuff nonetheless.

Thanks for the reads, Dirk. Hope you like the upcoming installments as well.

Silverback, I think you answered the why question with why not :) Glad you found the humor in it.

Funny stuff guys. I laughed pretty hard the third time I read “ That’s because it’s vapor not tabacco smoke”..lol  It’s weird because the first 2 shorts I read I didn’t laugh at that line. But hearing it a third time..lol. It was like how the commercials try and beat that line over ya’ head.  I think that worked because you had multiple shorts up.

Good job. Keep em’ coming.

Chipmen,

These were great. It has been quite a while since I laughed out loud at a script on here. Very enjoyable.

I know nothing about these ads Blondie but the fact that Stephen Dorff is in them makes them cool.

His portrayal of the tragic Lost Beatle, Stu Sutcliffe in 'Backbeat' was brilliant.

I've not seen them either Stevie, but they're still pretty funny. You should read them.

Beatbeat was good. Pity Ian Hart looked bugger all like Lennon.

Um,  I did read them. Yeah, they were well written.

Don't think any of the actors looked like the Beatles but they weren't really meant to , I guess.

But Dorffy did resemble Stu uncannily.

I think you'll find the guy who play McCartney was the spit of him. Harrison was pretty good too.

Oh, er, wrong thread for this type of thing. I suggest you PM me, Mr. Eggman, if you wish to discuss Backbeat further.

Anyways, to get back on topic... When can we expect more ads for the guy who was also in Blade, as well as bloody Backbeat? Oh, and that terrible Coppola film.

Thank you to everyone who's given these a read so far. We're both really happy that everyone seems to be liking them for now. =)

What is it they say about the Rule of Three? What's not funny the first time still isn't funny the second time. But, the third time, it's fucking hilarious. Thank you for the read and we're glad that you enjoyed them.

I'm glad to hear that. We knew these were a niche thing, but we were also hoping that comedy is comedy, so we're glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for reading.

And, to answer your later question, we're hoping to upload one of these weekly, maybe sooner if they turn out to be really popular. =)

Don, a big thank you for putting the newest commercial up. In addition, I'm adding the actual Blu E-cig Commercials that we are spoofing, so you can get a better idea of where we're coming from. =)

Man, I sure hope Stephen makes it to Mexico because we need more commercials from the guy. And you got to give it up to him because no matter what crazy situation he's involved in he surely knows how to keep his composure. Brillant! Absolutely hilarious, guys! I want more!

Brilliant. You've got the tone perfect.

The real ads are almost as funny now, too.

Hilarious! So well written. Pitch perfect.

The ONLY thing wrong (and this is the most piddling of comments) is that there are no such thing as a 66 Camaro. Being the owner of a 69 (twice), I know the car. They start at 67.

Ah, Tim. Thanks for pointing that out. Haha. Glad you enjoyed what we put up.

R and DV,  thanks for continuing to read on. There is a thinly-veiled plot but mainly each script will be Dorff  hocking Blu E-Cigs. Hopefully you continue to enjoy the future installments.  :)

I'm really happy you guys are enjoying these so far and I really would like to thank Don for getting these up as fast as he has.

As a result, commercial number five up is currently available. Hope you enjoy.

I like a laugh. And I always have a few reading these. They do seem to be getting shorter. But it still works.

There's not a lot else to say without quoting. So I won't. Other than I look forward to more soon. Fine work.

I read these last week. My favorite was the 2nd installment, really funny. Do commercials and ads run through the same format?
Posted by: Mr. Blonde, April 23rd, 2014, 10:35am; Reply: 24
Johnny, what do you mean? I think you're asking if commercials are written in the same format as scripts. if you are, I have no clue. We were just writing in a format that was familiar to us to make things easier.

Commercial #6 --

Pretty funny, Robert. Like how you ended with Stephen at the Raspberry (Razzies) awards. Maybe accepting an award on behalf of his role in Bucky Larson? Who knows. As always, the script flows great and you and Sean have nailed down how the actual commercial feels and sounds like but of course with your own original spin on it.

Great job! Keep em' coming!

Another excellent episode in the life of Dorff Vaper. Hey, that's a better joke than I thought it was gonna be. Well, if you like that kinda thing.

Fine work.

Actually, DV, you got that right. Had to actually research which annual Razzie Awards he would have been at for Bucky Larson. Can't get nothing by you :)

Thank you R for your continued support. I will let you have Dorff Vapor ;)

Commercial No. 7

Boy ol' boy. Just when you think Dorff is gonna come out looking half way cool he falls further and further away into the shitter. Funny visual thinking he's flirting with the waitress when in reality he's a fellow coworker. Lol.

Nice job once again, Sean. Very imaginative to keep coming up with these little gems.

Keep 'em coming.

Anyway, thank you for the continued support and am glad we continue to make you smile. Hopefully the next one will be up soon.

Commercial No. 8 --

Funny stuff as usual, Robert. My only gripe is why is he there? Maybe if you showed him with a plastic bag collecting trash, that could've worked or maybe a foreman yelling for him to get back to work. Just a thought.

One little error on the first page - Wipes the swear (sweat) from his brow.

Another solid entry. As always... keep em' coming!

Dirk,

I gotta hand it to you for sticking with these ridiculous shorts. It's funny that you mention that error as that's one neither of us had seen. There were also a few others we noticed after the fact. However, with all the technical problems going on behind the scenes with this one, it's a wonder it came out at all.

As for your first point, I'm going to let Rob bring that one up as this was his script. Still, thank you for coming to check these scripts out every week (or two or three). =)

Sean and Robert,

These are fucking hilarious! Not sure how I missed these before? Anyway, I just read all 8 episodes in one sitting and was thoroughly entertained throughout.

My favourite episodes were 1, 3, 4 and 7. Stealing the doughnuts from the set and then the reveal that he worked in the pizza place proper made me laugh out loud.

Thank you both for providing my Monday evening with some much needed humour :)

Dirk,

Sean and I have certain ways that the commercials can end. Obviously I wont go into them as it might take a bit of the joy out of them. Basically Dorff has nowhere else to go right now and hanging out in a landfill is free, so, why not? If every commercial ended with him "getting back to work" then the joke would have worn out its welcome way before commercial number 8. :)

As Sean mentioned, this one had a lot of difficulty to get to where it was. I noticed some things, (not the error you mentioned) but once this finally got up, the idea did the job I wanted so as is, I'm ok with it.

Also, again, as Sean said, thank you for sticking with these for as long as you have. There are many more to come and hopefully they will continue to at least provide a chuckle or two.

Hey Rob & Sean,

Explaining that Dorff has nowhere to go and is looking for a cheap (or free) place to stay makes a ton of sense. Thanks for clearing that up. Always a pleasure to read the newest entry in the Dorff series. They keep me laughing which is your intention so it's working. Like I said before. Keep em' coming.

These aren't getting the attention they deserve. Funniest thing I've read in quite a while.

Regarding No. 8 - I worry for poor Stephen's future.

That's okay. Maybe, with time, they'll become a cult classic. We're both happy that you're still enjoying them and hope you keep enjoying them.

As to your second point, things are still going very well for Dorff right now... compared to what's coming. =)

I've never seen one of these ad's as they don't show them here in the UK. I did read the first one, but I'm guessing one is better off being familiar with the ad's to fully appreciate the work here.

At the bottom of the first page, I did link the two real Stephen Dorff ads that we began parodying.

I still don't see the ad's on a regular basis. Most of the time we watch ad's because we have little choice but to do so. They're forced on us and we see them over and over and over again.

To fully appreciate this comedy, I would need to have been force-fed the ad's over and over again, just like people in the US have been subjected to.

I read the first one and didn't find it funny. I'm only pointing this out because somebody said they're not getting the reads they deserve. I think that may be down to familiarity with the ad's, as there are obviously two or three here that do find them funny.

Commercial No. 9 -

Ha. Good stuff. Every time Dorff is starting to look cool he takes a step backwards. Love the sad realization when Dorff exits the hotel and fetches the rich mans keys wearing the valet jacket. Nice job on this one, Sean. Dorff racing off felt like the scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  :D

Some nice touches in the latest (9) episode. Still making me laugh. You capture the tone well - in all its ridiculousness.

I know they're ads but I'd like to see one that's a little longer.
