I always had a feeling about this one as soon as I saw the teaser. All of the trailers really keep the plot under wraps and I think the less you know with this one, the better the viewing experience is. This is a dark, mind bending little sci-fi film that kept me thinking about it quite awhile after watching it.

I think this is a movie every screenwriter should watch, it utilizes a minimal cast, a great concept and all using one location. This never felt like one of those one location films, it really becomes something else.

This movie really does a great job of creating a sense of dread, fear and mistrust. I haven't found myself so invested in a film in quite awhile, it unfolds in extremely interesting ways and I never really knew where it was going. I don't want to talk about it too much, but I am curious to know what other people thought. As a screenwriter, this one really excited me.

Saw this a few days ago.

Ahhh... didn't like it. Looked a bit cheap, which is something I find hard to forgive given that most video editing software's have filters that can help with this. You tweak a few things in every scene individually, given the lighting. You can make it look more cinematic and like a film. Lower the digital look a tad. This wasn't horribly shot, it was actually quite decent, but still... it was enough to bug me.

Far as story goes... I always think these kinds of movies are hard to connect with. It's a given that they are niche and cater to a more "quasi-intellectual" crowd. You have to explain a concept to an audience that has most likely never heard of it and most likely doesn't care. It's hard for them to get involved in science talk and then a plot based on it, if they have no interested in it from the get-go. So... it's a hit or miss thing.

Thought this could have been better cast and the story could have developed better. Could have shelled out a bit of dough for a few FX shots of doubles/clones or whatever you'd like to call them. At least one or two shots. Because they didn't, it cheapened the movie even more.

Decent effort, nothing special, nothing to get overly excited about or search out IMO.

Really, Rick? I was bored stiff and I don't think I watched it until the very end. Watched most of it and thought it was very boring. I'm simple though, which might explain things.  ;D

I thought it was gobsmackingly brilliant, tbh. Totally unexpected.

The concept was incredible.

Loved the way they built the mystery and the tension.

The reveal was excellent. Really unnerving, with all the millions of possibilities and all the different things they entail. Who we are, the choices we make, how we'd react in that situation.

So, so clever. Had me thinking about it for ages.

Ending was a little underwhelming given what went before, but the rest had me spellbound.

This is the type of script that I joined the internet for, but never found.

An immense achievement in my opinion. They created so much with so little.

A real masterclass.

So, I just checked this out yesterday and I thought it was good. I was planning to leave the review like that, because "good" sums it up perfectly. No more, no less and my world has gone on spinning today without a single thought about it. There was an issue for me, though, and it was the issue of not going far enough with the paranoia factor. It was cool when you started to realize that the two guys who left and came back to the house weren't the original ones who left, but they didn't play with it much. They didn't actually pose a threat. It was one of the cooler set-ups in the movie and they didn't go far enough with it. On the other hand, when she goes out to get the ring and the guy's just creeping around her window and turns all evil-looking when she questions him, that was good. The reveal of the people with the red glow sticks, also good. I think it needed about another 15 minutes to go further with its ideas or shave a bit of time off the front (or just cut out the opening scene with the broken phone, because that was a lame payoff).

I watched this a few months back through a friend's recommendation and found it very enjoyable and tense, a real head scrambler.

I Loved the low-fi, improvisational feel to it even if this kind of aesthetic and approach is very in vogue right now. However, when its done right with good actors it comes off more natural and authentic than anything one could hope to script.

I think the biggest achievement of the film is that it doesn't run out of steam once you have a grasp of what's going on i.e. doppelgangers ahoy! It keeps things suspenseful by throwing in twist after twist, expanding the concept with the measures the people are taking to distinguish themselves from the other house, the internal fighting, the secrets revealed.

So many films with intriguing first acts, particularly in the paranormal, sci fi and horror genre, become infinitely less interesting once they reveal themselves. Any element of mystery dissipates and it falls into genre trappings. Coherence avoids that right up to the closing shot because of its somewhat fresh treatment of an otherwise common plot line.

The group did seem too readily accepting of the comet's influence though when Amir and Hugh first come back from the other house and explain what they saw. They pretty much immediately go into a surprisingly rational, level headed debate about how they are going to deal with their duplicates, except from Xander from Buffy who just wanted to kill his copy but still, even the fact that he was seriously entertaining that notion showed he was totally accepting what Amir and Hugh had reported. I expected there to be a lot more flat out disbelief and incredulity before it was proven.

However I do get it was to keep the story moving while suggesting the comet's is was getting inside their heads even in this early stage...or perhaps the blond woman did spike their food!

I won't go into the logic of It all as it will take me more than one viewing to figure it all out. I know I need some clarification on the 3 Emilys at the end anyway...and the 2 that survive the comet's passing.

Overall though I would give this a strong recommendation.
