Anyone keeping an eye on this? Anyone from the UK or perhaps even Scotland here, what are you leaning towards? What do you think? How will it go? Not from the UK myself, but quite interested in seeing how it goes.

Living in Jersey, which is pretty independent already, I can understand, but at the same time I think the risks are high.

We won't have long to find out. I hope they stay. And if they do, I hope the SNP drop the issue. Constant debate won't do anybody any good.

Couldn't care less. I'm from England.

Any Scot I know want independence.

I don't know enough about it to say which would be best but I'd like to see them be their own country. They've always resented the UK (unlike Wales for example) so now is the time to back that up with action.

I imagine the Spanish crown is watching this with some interest. If the "Yes" vote wins, expect Catalonia and the Basque country to push hard for a referendum too.

Hey, if Ireland can do it, anyone can.

Catalonia already are, quite intensely. I reckon the referendum just happening will already be plenty of fuel for them. The march in Barcelona last week speaks for itself.

Voting ended an hour ago, off to sleep. I'll throw in a random guess, 53% no. Will see if I was any close tomorrow morning.. ;)

Either way the Scots will do well. If it is no they still get a load of powers and concessions. Or at least they were promised such. They also wouldn't have to worry about currency and NHS.

If it's yes then anything could happen. But not for a little while.

Either way will be great for them. And bad for the Tories. Happy days.

55.4%, I wasn't that far off. Looks like the UK's remaining intact then.

Pity, that will have a knock on affect on the Catalonia effort now as well as the other states pushing for independence.

Even thought it's a NO, it's going to impact on England going forward: we'll now be the Constitutionally United Federal Kingdom. Or CUFK for short. Geddit? No going back, we're going to be the US, only a much smaller version. Oh, haven't I heard that before somewhere??
