3. Is there a way to look up all the scripts posted by an individual member?

No real motive behind these questions.  Just curious.

Reputation is no longer used.  It used to be a way you could vote up or down another users "reputation" on the boards.  People took great exception if someone voted his/her reputation down.

Invisible means just that.  You can go to Member Center -> Board Settings and click under "Privacy Settings" 'Invisible Online'.  Then in Portal your name would not be listed as "online".  

To see what scripts a user has posted, search on the person using ScriptSearch at the top of the page.  You should use the users real name rather than discussion board name.  Also note that the ScriptSearch data base is updated monthly, so the freshest scripts may not be listed.

Thread seems to have gotten a little sidetracked though... what popularity contests are you referring to? I hate them all. Big Brother is one... I'm A Celebrity get me out of Here is similarly annoying.

I find it especially annoying when those programs are abused. Just turn them off. Why bother abusing them? Honestly, I'm with you on this.

Imagine the charges of "conspiracy" and outrage that would run rampant while actual scripts were utterly ignored.

Anyway, Don was wise to pull the plug on that one.  It was the only merciful thing to do.

Yeah it's something that happened over most forums years ago. I think most don't even include it in the software bundle any more. Just as you said, no matter the subject, people don't take negative rep too well.

Rep systems are shite anyway.  Too many neg you out of spite, even when you have something constructive to say.

People can have such thin skin. They are only words on a message board. They only hurt if you let them.  If it's coming from family or loved ones - different story, IMO.

The reason it really doesn't work here is b/c we don't trade tangible stuff.  Now, I will say this:

We could use it as a variation.  If you read a persons's script, you get a +1.  If you discuss a script, you get another +1.  If someone reads your script, nothing happens.  So you can only have a + rating.  What it would show are those who do a lot of reading and who contribute.  

Or you (the bosses) could hand out extra +'s if a member does something above and beyond, like DS running the Script Club.  

That way, if a person has a few, or no +'s, then they don't do much to help the site and its members, and could be a tool to help people's stuff get read over those that don't do much, if anything.  So, it'd be a reward for those people like Libby, Pia, Dustin, Jeff who do take the time to read and review.

Dan, all due respect but I think SS works very well just the way it is, without points and 'likes' and hooha. People who love point scoring can have their day during the OWCs.  ;D
