SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Screenwriting Class  /  Can somebody tell me what this font is?

When I export my PDF's, the text doesn't look like that.

The Interstellar script has the same font, it's slightly bolder than my PDF exports from Final Draft.

Is this a different font or what? Because it sure as hell looks much smoother, and it's easier on the eyes for myself.

Looks to be Courier Prime. http://quoteunquoteapps.com/courierprime/

Downloaded this a while ago, it's nice. Now I just need to throw my writing block aside and actually write something in it.  :D

Hm. The letters look practically identical to me, with the possible exception of the capital E and y.

It could be a slightly different version font or the difference could just be the difference in how dark the font is and I'm not sure what that depends on. I don't know, hopefully someone else will. If not, you could always try e-mailing the writer of the script above and ask them.

It says "Courier, embedded subset, true-type"

It's Courier all the same, but it's different somehow.  Perhaps the PDF has been modified?  Either way, something is different about it.

CJ, if you're about, hit me up please.

Or if anybody else knows, feel free to chime in.

Fen bruh, are you talking about the fact the PDF font is darker?

I thought at first you were trying to locate the Interstellar header font.

I think the darker shade of font all depends on what scriptwriting software you're using. If you look at the scripts that come in for the OWC some fonts are darker, some lighter - depending on the program being used - it converts with a different look.

What are you using?

Yeah bruh, the font appears darker and slightly thicker.

I'm pretty sure CJ Walley is using the same software.

Okay, well CJ won't be the only one using that particular font.

Look up some of the OWCs or look in 'shorts' and see if you can see a comparable font in one of those screenplays and ask what that member is using? Or you could go to Final Draft q&a forums or write to them. Don's right with the font properties too, that should tell you the difference with all of them.

Maybe some of the above might help. Courier Prime?
G'luck.

P.S. Let me know what you find out. I think it's nicer a little darker as well. :)

Tried Courier Prime, it's way off.

Yah, I'll check OWC and see what I find.

Peace bruh.

It's not just the font or the software you use but also the OS you use. On my old Ubuntu OS I used to download a script and the entire pdf would be in italics. Obviously the person making the pdf didn't do that, it was just the way my OS interpreted the font. I've since upgraded to the latest Ubuntu OS and the pdfs I download are all fine.

Thanks for getting back to me CJ.  BTW folks, Courier Prime does look pretty sick, gotta admit.  I think I'll be switching to it.  It looks so smooth in the PDF, none of that scratchy business going on.

John August is the man as well, always liked watching his videos, and reading his stuff.
